Modern Vintage Meets Autumn Layering

Check out how I have moved Modern Vintage into the colder months with Autumnal layers and a mash up of a plaid circle midi skirt, a khaki bomber jacket, plimsoll creeper boots and a bright yellow new wave band tee worn with cute braids in my blue hair. A true No Debutante mash up of Modern vintage style for the autumn! Wrap up but don't lose your style beneath coats and layers this winter. Good luck, it is a challenge to achieve this xx

All clothing from Topshop, 8ball.com and Primark.

Hope you are all enjoying the new fashion season, I love the transition between fashion seasons, it always means a new look and inspires new ways to wear your old wardrobe in a new way! Get inspired! Thanks for reading fashionistas.

One Girl One Boy!!!

In a contradiction to my girlie side, I generally managed to boy up a lot of my looks by wearing clothing inspired by men's fashion, I have always been a bit of a tomboy as I have mentioned before and I do love a bit of androgyny. In today's personal style pics I have gone the whole way and just worn one of my husband Phil' shirts. I'm not sure whether he likes me wearing his clothes or not but he can be very aloof about these things.....so I just wore it anyway. I did ask at least!

I thought the shirt looked great with my whole outfit which consisted of my bright yellow Gang Of Four tee, denim cut offs, ankle socks and creepers. I made the look a little bit more femme with a lovely pink victory roll and flower in my hair.

For more of a Riot Grrrl look I wore a Fred Perry polo with denim shorts , American Apparel socks, Dr Martens and a quiff. Both looks were popular on Instagram which was cool.

The last image shows of a fantastic flash of my blue hair, even I didn't know it looked like that until I took the photo. I really love my rainbow hair! See, I am pretty girlie really....

All clothing from Topman, Fred Perry, Primark, Dr Martens, Underground, American Apparel and hair by Vikki Mac.

Thanks so much for reading and
I hope to be back very soon with more fashion fabulousness!!

No Debutante - Tomorrow Never Knows

I have found a new dress for the wedding! Yey! I cannot reveal the new dress yet but I will confirm that is is from Miss Selfridge. I was given the heads up to check out the dresses in Miss Selfridge by work mate Cath, after an unsuccessful search in River Island and Zara. I checked out the Miss S website and there seemed to be endless SJP type dresses and I went for a borderline SJP dress myself, expect a skater style skirt, again, honestly, it is may favourite shape at the moment and the dress even had pockets and regular readers will know I seem to have an obsession with a dress or skirt with hidden pockets!! I had no idea that Miss S had got so expensive these days, this dress cost more than the Zara dress, to be honest,  I don't think I have bought anything in Miss Selfridge since 2001! Well, it's back on the No Debutante fashion map!

I also fell in love with a silk bomber jacket in Zara, I think I even blogged about it in my Bomber Jacket post earlier this year, it was in the sale but alas it is still more than I am willing to pay. It is deffo one to keep an eye on the website for, it started at £135 and is now down to £75, more reductions please Zara!! The jacket will be mine!

Today's outfits are from Wednesday and Thursday supposedly my working days but we had a very poorly Sylvie Belle who has a virus and kept me up all of Tuesday night meaning I did not get to work on Weds, I couldn't leave the poor thing. I'm dressed in my Gang of Four Tee and denim cut offs and for a change wore my hidden wedge leopard print high tops. I spent most of the day with a hot baby on my lap!
On Thurs I was in a monochrome mood with my H&M swallow dress and New Look aztec cardigan and brightened things up with a red belt and Converse and my leopard print headscarf, looking retro rockabilly cool. The Instagram photograph of this outfit got the most likes ever, so I was happy.

Every morning I take my photographs of my chosen outfit using my iphone and new camera tripod (always in a mad rush) and then on the more relaxed bus ride to work I post a chosen image from the mornings shoot onto Instagram. Sometimes the photographs I choose whilst I'm half asleep, with my poor eyesight are blurred but nobody seems to care as they are all (mostly) looking from their iphones too. I like to post a pic everyday to show the world what I have chosen to wear. Nobody judges you (well, not to your face) or seems to mind if the image is a bit blurred, they just like the photograph, if they want to and most of my likes are from complete strangers, it's a great community and I love it. There are actually some lovely people out there in this cynical world!
Best social networking tool ever!!

No Debutante - Work it

So, the rain and wind came and ruined my summer outfits! Here are Wednesday and Thursdays outfits for work. I really wanted to wear my ridiculous shoes both days but as you know, they are not practical for all my walking!! I woke up in a daze on wednesday so my outfit was pretty simple, a bit of bodycon and a crop top. I'm not lovin my hair down without the pink in it either but I am off to see my hair stylist Vikki Mac in a couple of weeks and the pink tones and streaks will be restored!
Inspired by my Wedges and Creepers post I wore my Underground creepers today with short shorts and my bright yellow Gang of Four t-shirt and my hair is up with a head scarf, much better!!

Hope you liked todays short and sweet personal style post, I shall be back tomorrow with more fashion inspirations and current obsessions!

Have a good evening.

No Debutante - A Winters Tale Part 2 -Your hair looks like an easter egg...

Whilst Phil and my sons play Skylanders Giants on the newly received Wii U. I shall ignore what they are doing (and recognise when I am not wanted) and begin the second part of my Winters Tale double bill personal style blog post. I have since been taking many more pics of my Christmas fashion goodies but lets just end with the Nov-Dec fashion moments first! The baby is in bed by the way, she's not just randomly crawling about the house like that baby in Trainspotting...

I bloody love this Gang of Four tshirt!! I was a bit scared of it when I first got the big, oversized, monstrous bright yellow item but now I get annoyed when it isn't clean! (You can only imagine the clothes washing dilemma in my house with five people including two young boys and a baby) Here it is, my new favourite tshirt, worn with my high waisted H&M skater skirt (which is virtually vintage) and the studded Topshop pumps! This is what I look like at the end of the day after work and school pick ups BTW!

When I have a bit more time on my hands, I pop on some make-up (a little too much make-up on this occasion, some might say) and pop my hair up into cute kiddie bunches and then go hunting for my one year old daughter and do the same to her, Sylvie is clearly loving it!

  Not the bunches again Mummy!!!

Here's a sneak preview of me at the December Hoochie Coochie event, where The Bang DJs are residents, in a Rags to Riches themed outfit. More images of this amazing night to follow over the next few weeks!!
Vikki Mac, my hair stylist was our babysitter for the evening and Vikki kindly quaffed my hair up into and amazing curly mohawk. It's great when your hair stylist is your babysitter, isn't it?

Here's my hair after Vikki Mac got her hands on it again a couple of weeks later, she put on a toner which I would only describe as neon orange, which was terrifying when wet, but I have actually been loving ever since!! It's still in my hair a bit now, two weeks later, which frankly is great for a toner on hair that needs to be washed regularly. I'm tempted to go back and get it done again already!

This is the outfit I chose to wear at my work Christmas party. My bodycon tiger print dress with the baseball boot wedges and my neon hair which coincidentally matched the 1970s wallpaper behind me. The party was held at the Big Chill Bar in Bristol (where my club night Bang were resident DJs for two years) this room is the secret 1970s kitchen diner, which looked great and was a pretty intimate space but unfortunately the retro record player couldn't play any of the vinyl as they were all scratched and we only had the tiny speakers to play our ipods instead which were frankly too quiet.......despite this I have many photos proving we were having fun, even though I was apparently ill when i got home and I don't remember the taxi journey at all........I'd say the party was a success!

Pour me another Sailor Jerry's and ginger ale Phil! Happy Christmas!! ND xx
