How No Debutante Wears A 1950s Circle Skirt

After a very busy weekend which involved DJing at my quarterly club night Bang and hanging out with my lovely cousins who had come to stay, I have finally been beaten, again, by a sickness bug. Well, I am not sick, I just feel like there is an elephant sat on my chest and although I do not have a sore throat, I have managed to totally lose my voice, which is not a useful thing lose when you are the mother of three excitable children, who can't seem to hear what you are saying at the best of times... Anyhoo, I am hopefully now on the mend and ready for some fashion blogging action. I have been liking and pinning all over the place on all social networking sites I follow for my love of all things from London Fashion Week. It is my favourite of all the Fashion weeks and I always tend to go for the more avant guarde Vs street style collections and London never fails to inspire me. Check out my Pinterest fashion board here to see my favourites from the shows so far (and much more), why don't you follow me whilst you are there, eh?

Today's personal style looks include my Vivien Of Holloway 'Day of the Dead' print 1950s circle skirt. Midi skirts and dresses are all over the place at the moment in one guise or another but today I am rocking another Modern Vintage Mash up...Oversized T-shirts tucked into a 1950s circle skirt and worn with either 90s inspired platform boots or preppy Converse low tops. Wear with cute little cardigans and tights for the colder months and then lose both for the summer. Pretty versatile I'd say. What's next for No Debutante? Well, I am seeing this skirt worn with the oversized t-shirts but, to show off the skirts true potential and fullness, with a big petticoat under the skirt and perhaps some platform heels?? What do you think? Now to find the occasion to wear it....

Thanks for following fashionistas, see you again soon for some more fashion fun.

Modern Vintage Meets Autumn Layering

Check out how I have moved Modern Vintage into the colder months with Autumnal layers and a mash up of a plaid circle midi skirt, a khaki bomber jacket, plimsoll creeper boots and a bright yellow new wave band tee worn with cute braids in my blue hair. A true No Debutante mash up of Modern vintage style for the autumn! Wrap up but don't lose your style beneath coats and layers this winter. Good luck, it is a challenge to achieve this xx

Hope you are all enjoying the new fashion season, I love the transition between fashion seasons, it always means a new look and inspires new ways to wear your old wardrobe in a new way! Get inspired! Thanks for reading fashionistas.

Rock'n' Roll High School

I have just spent a fantastic weekend in London with some of my bestest friends and after managing to take six hours to get back to Bristol late yesterday afternoon and falling asleep by 8pm last night, I have now landed back to Earth with a bump on the kid fuelled school run this morning followed by shopping for my son Lucian's 10th birthday party for next weekend and baking him a cake for his actual birthday tomorrow! Phew! I need to go back to sleep and I haven't even had my run, wrapped his presents or ordered the shopping delivery! (You didnt think I actually took my three kids to the supermarket did you?) That's the only thing about great weekends the reality of the week is harder to deal with!

Let's look at today's personal style photographs, I always find time for a bit of blogging! It's all about the circle cut midi skirt again today. I am really comfortable wearing my circle skirts these days, so here are three ways I have worn mine over the past few weeks. There is definately a theme with midis and tucked in tshirts for me but I also like to wear crop vests or sleeveless shirts tied at the waist . Ankle socks obligitory! Which do you prefer out of these three looks (in order) Rock' n ' Roller, High School Hop or Geek Chic?

All clothing from Topshop, Vivien of Holloway, Primark and Converse.

Thanks for following and I shall hopefully be back with you tomorrow for more No Debutante, Fashionista fun!

How I Wear......Circle Midi Skirts

Hey Hey! Bloggers and Fashionistas. Hope you had a great weekend? Mine, of course, was rammed with events including a 40th Birthday Party, a wedding party in another city, lots of catching up with old friends and a fun filled time at my club night Bang!! Yes, I am tired but there is always time for a bit of blogging!!

Today I am sharing my love for Circle Midi Skirts. I have always loved them and for Christmas my lovely husband Phil bought me one from my favourite vintage shop Vivien Of Holloway, which you may have seen me wear on my blog before. Since then I have found a second skirt, this time in tartan and from the Topshop concessions label,Loving Youth. I got it for about £11 in the Topshop Spring sale, MEGA BARGAIN!

My only dilemma was how I would wear my Circle skirts? I have circle skirt dresses which are very glamorous and 1950s retro but I want to wear my circle skirts during the day too, dressed down. So, in my aim to make all items of clothing work for any occasion, I have Modern Vintaged the Circle Midi Skirt up in a dressed down style. On these occasions my chosen footwear is a trusty ol' pair of Converse with a sleeveless shirt tied at the waist or a crop top, I found this is the best way to emphasis the waist with these Midi Skirt beauties. Do not forget to emphasis the waist! A circle skirt will emphasis the hips and bottom so you need to nip in the waist to make the look more flattering, a tucked in top would work for the less brave! Now go out there and get yourself a Circle Midi skirt, they are all over the high street, so no excuses!

Thanks so much for following and reading my blog and I hope to be back tomorrow with more fashion fun!
