Kimono Love

No Debutante Loves Kimonos!

With Festival season on the horizon what better way to dress for the occasion than with a boho kimono? This was going to be a single kimono post but I have been wearing them so much, this Kimono obsession could turn out to be a regular feature! The kimono in today's post is from Urban Outfitters, it's black, embroidered, silky and has tassels, it has everything! I love it! Layer your kimono up over vest tops and dresses or over jackets, wear with shorts or jeans, experiment with it, it's such a versatile garment. The kimono is the item to make a statement in this summer, however you wear it. Rock it like a groupie!

Here's a couple of ways I have been wearing it lately, expect more from this kimono very soon!

Tee For Two

No Debutante loves oversized t-shirts! I own a load of them and always buy them at least three sizes bigger than my own size so they actually look oversized in length and in bagginess. I have a very long torso so this is essential for me to get the right amount of length! It's great that most shops now sell baggy oversized tees and not just a slightly longer cut tee that they name oversized, it seemed the high street was not quite ready or brave enough to step into the world of the XL sizing and voluminous shapes that now seem to be acceptable.  Before this I would just buy XL mens t shirts and wear 'em big and baggy. The oversized tee is an essential item this summer, don't be scared to wear it big and baggy, the oversized t-shirt is your friend!

Today's oversized tee is an Americana sportsluxe number bought from Primark last year, by Americana I am referring to American sports influences including Baseball and American Football. This particular tee is oversized but not too baggy but fits long like a mini dress.
Here are two ways I have worn it lately. Which is your favourite? Americana sportsluxe with tube socks and Converse or smart casual sportluxe with The White Pepper grid leggings and platform boots??

Culottes Love

No Debutante Loves Culottes!!
Culottes are brilliant! Is it a skirt? Is it trousers? Its both! Long or cropped lengths I love them all. I love Culottes!

It's safe to say culottes and wide leg trousers are my current obsession. I am always on the look out for new styles in different fabrics and lengths, a pair of long parallel wide legged jeans is something I need to own at the moment but, as yet, I have not found any available to buy. I don't want bell bottoms (unless they are the most flattering cut ever) it has to be a pair of long culotte style jeans, not ill fitting flares....so the search continues!

My lovely culottes in today's personal style pics were purchased from The White Pepper and I have paired them up with oversized t-shirts which add to the volume of these wide legged beauties with lots of gathering around the nipped in waist. I have my eye on another pair of culottes from The White Pepper this time in a blue graphic print, so watch this space for more Culottes Love posts!

Today's looks are quite minimal and I went with simple styling since the Culottes alone make a bold statement. I'm sure in future posts you will see print clashes, modern vintage and fashion mash ups No Debutante style featuring my new favourite culottes.
Culottes are so versatile and they are in every shop on the high street, so give them a try this summer!

No Debutante Loves....Oversized T-shirts!

No Debutante Loves Oversized T-shirts! This is not a new story, just check out the blog and the Instagram gallery to see how big my love is! Nearly every t-shirt I have bought over the past 10 years has remained in my wardrobe as a staple item, I believe a t-shirt will just keep going until it literally falls off your back. Don't get me wrong I love a nice, new'n' boxy cotton t-shirt too but a decent t-shirt can last years and I am a devotee who will wear her t-shirt to the end! The T-shirt is so versatile, it's not just a seperate to wear with denim, it's a great all rounder that can also be worn to dress down an outfit, worn under dresses, with pretty organza skirts and with tailored shirts and trousers. Ooooh! I love a t-shirt fashion mash up!

Today I am wearing my Oversized t-shirts including the Vision Streetwear X Topshop one and the yellow 'Gang of Four' one. The tees are worn big and untucked with denim cut offs and layered up with a maxi skirt. Want more? Check out my Instagallery for more Tee inspiration and No Debutante fun!

How No Debutante Wears A 1950s Circle Skirt

After a very busy weekend which involved DJing at my quarterly club night Bang and hanging out with my lovely cousins who had come to stay, I have finally been beaten, again, by a sickness bug. Well, I am not sick, I just feel like there is an elephant sat on my chest and although I do not have a sore throat, I have managed to totally lose my voice, which is not a useful thing lose when you are the mother of three excitable children, who can't seem to hear what you are saying at the best of times... Anyhoo, I am hopefully now on the mend and ready for some fashion blogging action. I have been liking and pinning all over the place on all social networking sites I follow for my love of all things from London Fashion Week. It is my favourite of all the Fashion weeks and I always tend to go for the more avant guarde Vs street style collections and London never fails to inspire me. Check out my Pinterest fashion board here to see my favourites from the shows so far (and much more), why don't you follow me whilst you are there, eh?

Today's personal style looks include my Vivien Of Holloway 'Day of the Dead' print 1950s circle skirt. Midi skirts and dresses are all over the place at the moment in one guise or another but today I am rocking another Modern Vintage Mash up...Oversized T-shirts tucked into a 1950s circle skirt and worn with either 90s inspired platform boots or preppy Converse low tops. Wear with cute little cardigans and tights for the colder months and then lose both for the summer. Pretty versatile I'd say. What's next for No Debutante? Well, I am seeing this skirt worn with the oversized t-shirts but, to show off the skirts true potential and fullness, with a big petticoat under the skirt and perhaps some platform heels?? What do you think? Now to find the occasion to wear it....

Another Girl Another Planet

As my obsession for all things oversized continues, today I'm going to show you two ways I wear my oversized t-shirts. These two oversized Primark tees were bought back in the summer, when I wore them as dresses with bare legs and flat pumps, these oversized sportluxe lovelies also work in the colder months too, paired with 100 denier tights, platform boots and fur coat.
Buy your t-shirts in the biggest size you can and for those of you who can't bring yourself to go oversized, look out for the longer length t-shirts that will continue to be in the shops for the next season or two.

All clothing from Primark and Topshop.

Girls Gone Wild.......Nineties Inspired T-shirts and Denims

A look that was popular with No Debutante last week was t-shirts and denims, mainly skate or surf labelled t-shirts worn with a bit of nineties denim.

The first outfit inspired by nineties layering and the BMX sports wear inspired Marc By Marc Jacobs collection (see last image below) by the street style queens Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley. Worn with a skinny long sleeve tee underneath my Vision Streetwear tee and the very nineties inspired short a-line denim skirt, platform ankle boots and braided hair to finish the look. A very No Debutante take on the look I'm sure you'll agree!
Don't follow.....Get inspired people!

The second outfit also screams the nineties with an oversize Maui tee worn untucked over my tapered Mom jeans with spotty ankle socks, creeper shoes and a grungey oversized cardigan layered over the top. This is more of an androgynous look that anyone can rock despite the oversized and unfitted nature of the outfit.

Platform ankle boots and creeper heeled shoes were massive in the early nineties and it looks like they are here to stay for the next couple of seasons......an investment well worth making for this Winter!!! Plus for any of you who are still rocking skinny jeans and god forbid jeggings please put them aside and reach for the tapered jeans, boyfriend jeans and 1950s style jeans, wear them on or above the waist and turned up at the hem. Don't be afraid, they are more flattering than you think!

All clothing from Vision Streetwear, Topshop, Underground at Office and Primark.

No Debutante Vs Marc by Marc Jacobs SS 2015

Get inspired by London Fashion Week for Spring Summer 2015. Today No Debutante gets inspiration from the Marc at Marc Jacobs SS 15 show with monochrome layering, over sized tees and cute top knots in her mermaid hair.
The Dress worn in the personal style pics is by Phlem, an early 2000s fashion label by No Debutante! Hoard Everything!!!

Recreating catwalk styles can seem a bit daunting and expensive, it needn't be. The secret to recreating your own versions of catwalk looks is to use as many existing items already found in your wardrobe with a lot of creativity and perhaps a new item here or there. NEVER try to recreate the look in full, it will look too try hard and it probably won't fit in with your style. Like a magpie take elements from the catwalk and then make it your own.

I have taken influence from a few of the outfits from the Marc By Marc Jacobs SS 15 collection by Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley.
The whole collection is inspiring but you can't wear it all at once! Inspired by the monochrome prints, polka dots and layering I created the No Debutante version using a Super lovers tee with a strapless monochrome mix print cocktail dress layered over the top (did I mention I made the dress??). I went for bare legs and black footwear since the weather in the UK was still pretty hot at the time, I would wear tights and possibly a long sleeve under the tee now the weather has got cooler.
Not being one to hold back on hairstyles I
decided to recreate the Bjork style mohican of topknots in my mermaid hair but a simple single top knot would have looked great too.

There are so many different alternatives to recreating this look, try using different colour tees, dresses, skirts and footwear, wear it whatever way you like. Oversized t-shirts layered over or under dresses and skirts are the key pieces to this look and monochrome prints look to be a big thing for Spring Summer 2015.
How do you wear this look for the winter months?? Just add more layers, this can be worn beneath your winter coats with tights and long sleeves layered into the mix. Latex leggings optional! Good Luck fashionistas xx

Time Flies

Well, they say time flies when you're having fun (or in my case have too many distractions) I managed to totally miss my 300th blog post! Yes, it was two posts ago! I am pretty happy I have actually found the time for 300 blog posts....in three years! Not quite the one blog post a day that I orignally planned but the blog isn't my life, it's more like a diary....a fashion diary, which is exactly what I wanted it to be when I started it back in 2011. I am glad I have kept the blog going, it could have been easier to abandon it and just stick with Instagram and my Facebook page, which to be honest, are much more instant ways to show the world my daily outfits and current obsessions, with limited text and instant image uploads. I have decided to carry on with the No Debutante blog as it is now a diary and it is more honest than the instant one sentance comments that come with the other social networking sites. You get to know more about a person on their blog as it is usually more text heavy. What do you prefer in a blog? More text and information or more images?? I'll be honest I am an image lover but occassionally I like to know more about the post or generally have more time to read each blog post in full. Which begs the question....Is anybody actually reading these blogs at all? Are you reading my blog post right now? If yes, please leave a comment!

Moving on to today's personal style outfits and linking up with the previous post about my love for oversized t-shirts, here is another way I wear my oversized tees, tucked into little skater skirts and accessorised up!
I love bright coloured tights, it's such an easy way to add colour to an outfit. If you want to add even more colour to your outfit a Kuccia silky bomber is the only way to go!
Which is your favourite outfit? Tokyo Grunge (as it was named on Instagram) or Bright Kuccia Mash Up? Never hear it be said that a No Debutante outfit lacks personality and sparkle!

All clothing from 8ball.com, H&M, Primark, Kuccia, Topshop, Tatty Devine and Underground Shoes.

Thanks so much for reading, No Debutante will be back very soon with more fashionista fun.
