Dot To Dot

Polka-dots are back in my life, I was totally in love with polka-dots in the early 2000's, a lot of my first collection for my fashion brand Phlem was full of them back in the day! Polka-dots were in my home, on my clothes, I think I overdid it with the polka-dots so began to fall out of love with them...but here they are creeping back into my wardrobe, I wasn't even aware I owned so many polka dot pieces! This time around polka dots are turning up on sports wear & tailored garments alike, anything goes with the contemporary polka dots from graphic two-tone polka dot prints to pretty polka dot embroideries on dresses to sweatshirts in monochromes, greys and pretty pink hues.

Smock Around The Clock

No Debutante loves smock dresses! My smocks have to be short, cute and voluminous, I want to look like a dolly when I am wearing them, a Harajuku Lolita mixed with 1960s baby doll, Smocks Rock!
Anybody who follows me on Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr (you don't? Follow me now please!) will see my daily OOTD pics and there probably isn't a week that goes by that I don't wear a Smock dress. Dressed up with heels or down with trainers, a smock dress is perfect for any occasion. Don't be afraid of a voluminous shape and if you are worried about the length layer your smocks over jeans or shorts.

In today's post I have many versions of how I have worn two particular Smock dress favourites of mine lately. The polka dot blue smock is from The White Pepper and the gingham smock is from Topshop. These are both from last summer but The White Pepper still love a smock dress and always have lovely new versions with each season, check out the sailor and Dinosaur print versions in the current summer collections. Lazy Oafs also love a smock dress and I currently have my eye on a particular gem from their summer range, Lazy Oafs are more Wacky than the more wearable and beautiful White Pepper, with their controversial slogans and humorously placed embroideries, which I love, both create beautiful clothes in shapes and silhouettes that the high street can only covet! Topshop seemed to have had a short affair with the smock dress possibly influenced by The White Pepper and Lazy Oafs but I do love this gingham dress so the Topshop fling with Smock dresses seems to have paid off, for me anyway!

Here's how I have worn mine lately, dressed up or down No Debutante style xx

I love you culottes

Culottes are everywhere on the high street at the moment, whether bold graphic print, Aztecs or plain, below the knee or maxi lengths, dressed up or down, there's something for everyone. My latest pair of culottes are from The White Pepper, I fell in love with the 80s graphic print and was even more in love when I actually tried them on, the cut, the length, the colour, they are perfect and so flattering. I was so pleased with them I had to take a photo the evening I got them, tags and all! The other pair of culottes in today's post are also from The White Pepper, I love them too (despite them shrinking in length in the wash) Here's a few ways I wear mine No Debutante style. Get inspired!

Oversized Jumpers in Spring

Jumpers are for the whole year not just for the winter! Wear your oversized jumper instead of a summer jacket, it will keep you warmer on those breezier summer days and is super comfy! It's the perfect festival fashion item too, it's oversized, it's grunge, it's the new oversized cardigan! I always take my oversized jumper when I go body boarding, it keeps me warm after I take my wetsuit off and acts as a changing room to remove wet swim wear and then it's a perfect grungy fashion item for hanging out on the beach in the late afternoon! Don't neglect your jumpers this spring / summer!

Here's a couple ways I have worn mine lately with or without the sunshine, dressed up or down the oversized jumper wins!

Tee For Two

No Debutante loves oversized t-shirts! I own a load of them and always buy them at least three sizes bigger than my own size so they actually look oversized in length and in bagginess. I have a very long torso so this is essential for me to get the right amount of length! It's great that most shops now sell baggy oversized tees and not just a slightly longer cut tee that they name oversized, it seemed the high street was not quite ready or brave enough to step into the world of the XL sizing and voluminous shapes that now seem to be acceptable.  Before this I would just buy XL mens t shirts and wear 'em big and baggy. The oversized tee is an essential item this summer, don't be scared to wear it big and baggy, the oversized t-shirt is your friend!

Today's oversized tee is an Americana sportsluxe number bought from Primark last year, by Americana I am referring to American sports influences including Baseball and American Football. This particular tee is oversized but not too baggy but fits long like a mini dress.
Here are two ways I have worn it lately. Which is your favourite? Americana sportsluxe with tube socks and Converse or smart casual sportluxe with The White Pepper grid leggings and platform boots??
