More Culottes Love!

I love my culottes from The White Pepper and after this post I already have enough images for a third Culottes Love post so let's crack on and see how I've been styling them lately. Well, it's all about the white t-shirt today, it's a look that could be quite minimal in monochrome but where would the fun be in that?? I have styled mine up with a fun kawaii style tee (my husband Phil bought it in Tokyo years ago and loved the print, he had no idea it was a Comme Des Garcons copy and I don't think he really cared either! It's a great print!) a topknot, ankle socks, creeper pumps AND no tights which I got very excited about on Instagram. For the second outfit I have styled up the culottes with my rad crop (with a black vest underneath, it's not that warm in the UK yet!) polka dot ankle socks, creepers and a plaid shirt, more grunge than kawaii. Which is your favourite? Watch this space for more Culottes love styled up by No Debutante over the next few weeks and go get your culottes!!

Winter Layering In Denim & Plaid

Hey Fashionistas! I love to tomboy it up in denim and plaid, whether its a rockabilly inspired dungarees, skate tee, creepers and plaid shirt or a modern vintage crop top and 1950s jeans look. I can girl it up and down, depending how I am feeling........On this particular day, when I wore the rockabilly dungarees ensemble, I wasn't feeling too great, this was the first day I hadn't worn PJs for about a week after that damn Christmas flu bug attempted to finish me off the week before Christmas. My heart wasn't totally into choosing an outfit but this look is always a win win for me, so I didn't really have to think about it. After the week of PJs, dungarees and a plaid shirt seemed the next closest thing. So, I got all dressed up and braided my hair but couldn't face the make up (hence me hiding my face for the photographs) I still wasn't feeling one hundred percent but thought my outfit looked cool and should be documented for the blog. I am not a big beauty girl who perfects her make up or attempts to look beautiful, it's all about the clothes and hair for me, if my face looks OK then that's a bonus!

The modern vintage second outfit is one you have seen before here at the No Debutante blog but it is one of my go to outfits, I needed to wear a long sleeve as I was cold, a crop top if you're cold you may ask? My 1950s jeans are high on the waist and I had the plaid shirt layered over too so only a tiny bit of skin showing on my upper torso. The thing I will never understand in the cold, winter months are people with no socks on??? It makes me shiver even considering it. What is wrong with these people??? These second images were taken in my new loft bedroom, I am loving the amount of light in the loft and the white walls make it a perfect room for taking photographs. I have even shared a close up selfie of my face, a very rare thing for this blogger, I can tell you!

Which is your favourite look?

It's 2015! Happy New Year From No Debutante xxx

Happy New Year Fashionistas! Thanks for joining me aka No Debutante for my first blog post of 2015! Hope you had a great New Years Eve, we partied at home with kids and karaoke, a great combination for a NYE party at home, as you can imagine babysitters are pretty hard to come by on NYE! My last post saw me recovering from the standard Xmas bug that gets us all in the holidays and a last post of the year wishing you a Happy Christmas. Christmas was good fun for us with lots happening, those who follow my Instagram gallery will have seen what we were up to.

I thought it best to start the year with a fashion post on What I wore at Christmas. I was totally White Pepper spoilt and received an amazing organza embroidered polka-dot smock dress in pink from my new favourite shop (The White Pepper) from my brilliant husband Phil. I had given him a few clues as to things I might like for Christmas gifts and Phil totally came up with the goods. I was proper White Pepper spoilt! I love my new smock dress and had told Phil I liked both the Pink and the black version, so I left it to him to decide, (if indeed he was going to buy it for me) I wouldn't usually go for this pale pink colour but it looked great on the models on the website and as soon as I put it on, I fell inlove with it! Thank you Phil!!! Coincidentally my son Mika (8) had miraculously managed to buy me a pair of grid check print leggings from The White Pepper too which I totally love. Soooooo White Pepper spoilt! I will show you how No Debutante wears her Grid check White Pepper leggings very soon but you can get a sneak peek if you check out the No Debutante Instagram and Facebook pages, just search No Debutante!

Below are a few personal style pics of my new favourite dress. I'd like to say a little more about the dress first, I hadn't realised but the dress comes as a separate sheer organza smock with a slip dress to wear underneath which makes the dress so versatile as I can wear the smock layered over other coloured dresses and tops and even wear the slip dress on it's own or layered up too! Brilliant! Well done The White Pepper!!
The photos of the dress were taken on Christmas Day, the dress was a perfect party dress and got many lovely comments from family, friends and my social media friends and followers. The White Pepper even liked my photos on Instagram, let's say the dress is a hit! The handsome chap in the photograph with me is my husband Phil, the brilliant White Pepper gift giver, looking dapper in his Topman plaid flannel shirt that I coincidentally bought him for Christmas. Lucky boy!

All clothing from The White Pepper, Primark, Topman, Levis Skateboarding and Adidas.

Thanks for following and have a great 2015! I shall be back with more fashionista fun very soon.

Late Summer Grunge

It seems I only have time for a weekly blog post these days, I am trying my hardest to find more time to blog but I am no longer kidding myself that a daily blog post is possible. I also have no time to attend fashion weeks (as much as I would love too) like all the other bloggers seem to manage, but I am happy being a mother, an alternative looking mother I guess, but a mother with a massive fashion obsession, who loves to blog!
At the weekend I attended my friends Sarah and Paul's festival style wedding and met a lovely lady from my new favourite on line shop The White Pepper, who introduced herself to me after enquiring if my dress was from The White Pepper, which indeed it was! (The outfit post will follow in the next few weeks!) I had my photo taken for The White Pepper Instagram but amongst the wedding fun and chasing little Sylvie around the festival site, I didn't really get a chance to chat too much. I would really love to do a collaboration with them! Watch this space.

Today's personal style post features my new favourite jeans, the Mom jeans, from Topshop. I am really happy to have found a pair of jeans that I love and haven't had to be cut from 1950s patterns for me to even give them the time of day! Don't get me wrong, I love my modern vintage jeans too but sometimes a contemporary item is needed to keep things current. Since I have been running, I have managed to gain a flatter stomach too which just makes me even happier! Not bad after three kids....eh?

The grunge look is still working for me and looks to be hanging around for another season, as my hair colour gets brighter (check out Instagram / facebook to see it now!) and long hair for girls and boys, Dr Martens and plaid shirts have become even more popular rather than a seasonal fad.

It was a hazy morning when I took these pics, which kinda adds to the mood, I think. I dressed my Mom jeans with a plaid shirt, crop tops, Converse and Dr Martens, with hair worn long and centre parted or up in a messy topknot. Which is your favourite look?

You've Torn Your Dress....You're Face Is A Mess..

Hey Hey Fashionistas! Summer has finally come to stay here in the UK, it's real hot and I am loving it!! I am loving the freedom of being able to wear shorts and dresses without tights, this is a massive thing here in the UK as we are never sure if the sunshine is actually going to come during our summer months, luckily for the past couple of years it decided it would show up and hang around for a bit.

Today's personal style pics are from a month ago when it was still, very much, tights wearing weather, what a difference a month can make! I am wearing my lovely warm 80 denier tights with, a dress that just keeps on giving, my swallow print shirt dress from H&M. It's a practical little dress that still (after 4 years) looks cool dressed up or down.

The first outfit features the plaid shirt again! I really love this shirt don't I? Layered up over the H&M dress with red Converse and a lovely flower in my quiffed updo hair an easy but effective look to pull off I think.

The second look mixes colour blocking and a 1920s inspired hairdo. I love bright colours and bright coloured tights, I wore them to death a few years back and grew tired of them but now I am well involved with the bright tights looks from the 1960s and 70s. The 1920s influenced finger waved hair, is a first for me, it's not perfect finger waving but I thought I'd have a go. Like I said in my last post, there's no harm in trying stuff out. I was pretty impressed with my first attempt. What do you think? It's Modern Vintage daaarling....

Which is your favourite look?

All clothing from H&M, Primark, Topshop and Converse.

Thanks so much for reading, I shall be back tomorrow with more Fashion Fun!

Be There Or Be Square Daddio.....

This past week has seen me turn a year older, I was showered with lovely gifts including an amazeballs Ashish X Topshop bikini which you probably will never see me wear on my blog as I am not one to strip down and take photographs of myself. Hey, I have had three children and I am approaching 40, I need to keep some things private! I promise to take a few still pics (of the possibly only Ashish item I will ever own) to share with you very soon! I really love Ashish so I am really happy that my lovely husband Phil spoilt me rotten! To help me get my swimsuit body back on track I have started running again. It has been a few years since I have ran but I am using an NHS running App that helps ease you back into it. I think the last time I ran I was extremely hard on myself and it just put me off! Its great to run in the warm weather, it makes you more inspired to do it. Watch this space for a possibly more toned No Debutante!

Let's check out today's personal style outfits, both feature my Primark plaid shirt, I really have worn it to death and think it is time to purchase a couple more plaid shirts. I love them!

Here's two different ways I wear my plaid shirt. The first is modern vintage inspired with a long sleeve crop top, Freddies of Pinewood 1940s turned up wide leg jeans, white high tops and cute rockabilly plaits in my hair. The second look is much more grunge inspired with tiny denim cut offs, long slouchy vest tops and those white high tops again! Both different looks, which is your favourite Rockabilly Cute or Grunge Girl?

All clothing from Primark, Freddies of Pinewood and Tatty Devine.

Thanks so much for reading and hello to my new followers. No Debutante shall be back tomorrow with more fashionista fun. Have a great day xx
