Transitional Streetwear

This is how No Debutante dives into Autumn with streetwear influenced layers, in hoodies, culottes, tees layered over long sleeve tees, bright coloured bombers, sheer layers and a whole lotta Adidas! In an autumnal palette of bright red, blues, baby pinks and monochromes, styled up with a playful swagger.

What are you wearing this autumn? Don't follow trends of what the media tells you to wear, use your imagination, follow your mind and get creative.

Style Obsession! The oversized shirt

No Debutante is still in love with the Oversized shirt!

With a penchant for eighties oversizing and prints, the fascination with the oversized shirt had always been there, then one of my fave brands Lazy Oaf started creating some amazing versions in the generously oversized shapes I craved, nobody could compete with Lazy Oaf's shirts....but then....Monki, I confess, I'm hooked, are churning them out on a bi-weekly bases and at really great prices and sizes that fit all.

There was still a prominant gap in the market for larger girls to be able to get plus size garms with the oversizing style they wanted too. One of my close friends is a size 18 and is literally buzzing about the Monki oversized shirts fitting her the way they fit me (I'm a size 12 but always wear bigger sizes and often mens tops) Monki really have changed things for the plus sized fashionista!

I understand why Lazy Oaf garms only come in three sizes, they are an independent and despite the garms being more expensive than Monki's cheap as chips fashion gems, they are limited editions, plus their size large is actually pretty large but I wouldn't go as far to say it would definitely fit a size 18.

The battle goes on between the high street and the independents, Lazy Oaf were certainly doing the generous oversizing thing first but let's not feel too sorry for them just yet. In terms of resale Lazy garms are so sought after, due to their limited edition drops and mass international following, that you could sell on your worn Lazy Oaf items for more than you paid for them originally. Shame the independents aren't making that return for themselves eh? Perhaps this is why the prices for the latest drops of Lazy Oaf goodies are rising, the indies need to get some of those rewards for themselves somehow and there is certainly a market for it!

Where else can you source some oversized shirt goodness?? Vintage and thrift/charity shops have loads of oversized mens shirts available, try on the biggest sizes and play around with it. Pinstripes are looking to be a big thing over the next year too, so roll the sleeves up and style it out! This style is for the boys too not just the grrrls!

I just love oversized shirts, all printed up with a contemporary graphic worn either buttoned all the way up or undone and layered over another top. Wear yours with leggings, jeans or if it's long enough, as a dress with tights this winter or some cute culottes (yes, culottes are not just for the summer! But, that's another story for another day...).

However you wear it, wear it big, it's a great investment that will see you right through to spring.

Spring fashion round up

Fashion season is in full swing here in Bristol, with so many fashion events happening over the past month from new collections, fashion shows, pop-up shops and fashion salvage's, it's been fun, fun, fun for this fashionista!

With new fashion events come new fashion goodies and with new fashion goodies comes No Debutante needing some of these new fashion goodies to wear and share with you lovely lot.

From fashion goodies by local designers to a random Dr Marten obsession (it just kinda crept up on me...) mixed with the usual No Debutante print clashing, sportswear-loving, layer obsessing, oversized styling, fashion mash-up in bold bright colours from tomboy cool to girlie cute. I think I have everything is covered!

Transitional March

March has kicked off with some cute, bright & voluminous fashion from No Debutante, as we wait for spring to get sprung and those chunky layers and cover ups to finally do one for a bit. Until then No Debutante will attempt to bring some spring into our lives with a spot of colour and a few transitional outfit ideas.

No Debutante loves pastel cute colours and layering, sneak some sweet corals, pinks and baby blues into your outfit and layer up those slip dresses and sheer layers over long sleeve tops to keep out that winter chill that is still bugging us!

Monochrome with pops of colour or layered up sheer slips over jeans is the way to layer up this season. Layer up your crop trousers and culottes with sweatshirts and a long trench playing with volume and length.

Don't be afraid to clash up colours and prints or mix up sports wear with culture clash prints. Oversized sportswear and frilled details, are the new looks for jersey wear, get your oversized fix from Monki, it's No Debutante's new favourite high street shop and hits the nail on the head when it come to oversizing. Mix up your new bright sportsluxe with some geometric Tezla earrings and some red lipstick for a pure streetstyle statement. Boom!

All clothing from Adidas, Urban Outfitters, Lazy Oaf, Asos, Fix Up Look Sharp, Reebok, The White Pepper, That Thing, Monki, BTR, Aquescutumn, Vision Streetwear and Tezla

Shirts in Winter

It's been ages since I did a No Debutante personal style post, I've been so lucky to have so many inspiring fashion moments and obsessions surrounding me, I have kind of forgotten about my style, not on a daily bases of course, as anyone who follows my social media will know, every day is a fashion opportunity for No Debutante! It's about time I shared some of my most recent looks on the blog.

I've noticed I have worn a lot of shirts in January 2017, shirts, layering and sportswear, it is frrrrrreezing cold so I have worn long sleeves and got involved with a lot of layering. The shirts are all oversized with bright graphics and mostly come from Lazy Oaf with the exception of my vintage, fashion salvaged (from BTR originally from Daks) Hawaiian style shirt with a print that reminds me of a Paul Gauguin painting.

Here's how I wear my oversize shirts in the winter time (mostly with a cuddly fur coat thrown over the top) I wear these shirts all year round as they are great in the summer months too. A great investment for you fashionistas now I reckon!

My new Tezla earrings go great with my Fruity Lazy oaf shirt
