Crop Top and Jeans

I am back from my holiday in sunny Ibiza and sat at home in Bristol, England listening to the rain pour outside and I am totally wishing I was back in Ibiza sat on the beach, listening to the waves! At least this bad English weather gives me a chance to catch up with some blogging, we have a lot to talk about!
As anybody who follows me on Facebook and Instagram knows I have a new hair colour and will be sharing this and all of my holiday outfits with you on this blog very soon but for now we are going to have a look at what I wore the few days before I went on holiday and got my hair done, if you can't wait to see the new hair colour check out my Facebook and Instagram. Although the outfits have not yet been revealed to anybody yet, watch all of these spaces over the next few days to see what No Debutante wore in Ibiza!

Today's outfits are very simple but effective and are great worn in the warmer months. I love a crop top and a pair of high waisted jeans and here are a couple of ways I have worn them in July with creeper pumps and cute hair updos.

All clothing and accessories from Topshop, Vivien of Holloway, Primark and Asos.

Thanks so much for reading and don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Facebook for daily fashion updates, ahead of the blog posts.

Hey Babe, Your Hair's Alright.....

I can confidently say that I never run out of things to do with my hair. I have a massive collection of hairstyles on my Pinterest Hair Inspirations board so if I ever run out of ideas I check out my latest pins and have a go at the style! The best advice I could give anybody about trying out new hairstyles and updos is......just do it! Nobody knows (or cares for that matter) whether you have done it correctly or neatly, the fact is you've had a go. I can honestly say you will get more compliments for your new look than any cruel remarks, just act confidently and people will just be very complementary, I promise! I think the same thing about fashion styling but that's a whole different story, it's all about the hair today!

Two months ago, I had no idea how to do a french braid / plait, so I am really happy to be able to show you the braids I have managed to create on my own!! I am just loving braids and plaits at the moment for two reasons, one my sista fashionista Selena from Foxtrot Hair fame (check out the Dilly Debutante photo shoot collaboration here for those who missed it) is fantastic at braids and I was lucky enough to have her create some amazing braided styles in my hair which I loved, I am not able to braid around the back of my head yet, plus, I just like other people doing my hair for me! The other inspiration comes from Game of Thrones' Khaleesi's amazing platinum braided styles plus braids and plaits have been all over the catwalks too. I Love Braids!!

The Braids really have pushed aside my rockabilly victory rolls from the past year or so but that doesn't mean I will stop victory rolling my hair up, it just adds to the variety of styles in my hairdo collection, which I love! I have also become more inspired by the 1960s bouffant lately, I have been backcombing my hair for years but having longer hair I am now able to create longer looks with curls and bunches, the possibilities are endless!!

So check out the selection of hair styles and updos from May this year, I have so many different photographs that it looks like a hair post could become a monthly thing. I must apologise that the quality of a couple of the images isn't that great but alot of these pics were taken on the go, at least I had time to do my hair!! Expect flowers, finger waves, Victory rolls, pink hair, blue hair, curls, braids, backcombed bunches, buns, mermaids, quiffs and twists! Phew! All hairstyles by No Debutante. Hair colour by Vikki Mac. Which is your favourite?

See what I can do in a month? Get inspired and start styling up your hair today, practise makes perfect.....but not too perfect please, we are not looking for perfection!

Good Luck and thanks for following fashionistas. Join me very soon for more fashion fun!

No Debutante - Pump It Up

It is so sunny outside and I have just got the baby to bed and done a few house chores and I am actually longing to get outside in the sunshine, so here's a quick personal style post from me where you can find out what I wore on the family excursion to see Elvis Costello (first outfit) on Sunday evening and what I wore yesterday on the first day back on the school run. I'm still wearing denim, there are infinite combinations although it appears I cannot stop wearing those dungarees, they're back again!! Expect more big hair, ankle socks and wedge boots!

I'm off to get me some sun before the baby wakes up. BTW I'm still no closer in getting shoes and accessories for this wedding, Baby girls like trips to the Mall don't they?

Thanks for reading y'all.

No Debutante - In a west end town in Denim World

My denim week continues and I am very happy that the weather is now warm enough for me to wear my dungarees without a massive cardigan or loads of layers thrown over the top. My rockabilly 1950s hair is getting bigger and more out of control and I can't wait to get it pinked up again for Phil's sister Dawn's wedding on Saturday!! I am also looking forward to wearing the new Zara dress and still need to find some shoes, maybe some earrings, a necklace, a bag! Little Sylvie still needs some shoes too and time is running out!! More shopping, you say? Oh, go on then!

Here are my outfits from the weekend which I mostly spent in our very warm and sunny garden (yes, the tights and creepers did have to come off as it got hotter). I also went out last night for a family trip to see Elvis Costello (who is so cool and rocked it) so you shall have to wait until next time to see what I wore. My parents had bought me and my brother Mike tickets as surprise birthday presents (it's my birthday next week!! Yey! I'm nearly, really old!!) We go and watch old bands together that are family favourites and these bands were generally the soundtrack to my childhood, where in my head, it was always summer! I hope my kids have the same memories!

I have been posting personal style pics everyday for a month on Instagram, check them out and follow me here http://instagram.com/nodebutante#  I also have fashion stills and photographs of my kids on there so I am planning a post of all my favourite Instagram photographs from the past month (mostly the ones without me in), I'm sure this will take me some time but watch this space!!

Thanks for reading, following or just checking out my blog, I am so happy that you are interested in what I have to share!! Especially all you facebook followers who silently follow me through Facebook and then I bump into you and you tell me you always read my blog and I had no idea you did!! You make me right happy!! Yey!!

No Debutante - I got 24 Hours to go....Make me over!

So I have heard on the bloggers grapevine that there are less than 24 hours to go until the Company Style Bloggers Awards close for nominations, so anybody who would like to nominate my blog in the Best Personal Style Blog catagory should do so asap!!! A massive thank you to everyone who has nominated for me, so many of you have let me know that you have done so and it is very encouraging for me as a blogger and I am so grateful, any last minute stragglers can vote for me here www.company.co.uk/stylebloggerawards2013

I've not given this post a theme as such although my old favourite H&M bodycon dress has been making an appearance this week and there is definitely a monochrome theme in there too. I have a special treat at the end of this post for one of my blog followers who may or may not be happy with being featured on my blog but I know she was happy on the day!

What I did to Dawn!

Let's set the scene here, one afternoon just before school pick up, I popped round my friend Dawn's and decided to give her a quick make-over. Dawn is very particular about her appearance always has a great vintage style dress on, never wears trousers or jeans (honest!) and always wears her long straight black hair down. So using what can only be described as Barbies tiny comb and hairbrush (Dawns kids) and some hair grips I quickly backcombed and styled Dawns hair up into a quiff with 1940s style twists at the sides. I wasn't allowed to make it too big or too different.....Dawn was unsure, but I had laced her hair with hairspray so there was no escaping the new hair and with no time to brush it out she had to wear it up on the school run! I only remember 'No, it's too different!' before we left but after many compliments (and my encouragement) I think I heard the words 'I love it'. I think you could call that a success??  Dawn has even agreed to let me pin up the back next time and perhaps add some victory rolls! The challenge after that will be getting Dawn wearing trousers, really, this is a massive challenge!! I don't think I'll ever grow out of make-overs!!  Thank you Dawn! Who's next?

It's too early for that dress.......7 Months Post pregnancy fashion dilemmas

I am sorry for the lack of posts lately, I really am so busy all the time and now it's the summer hols for the kids, I am not getting a quick break to blog during the day - when the boys are usually at school and little Sylvie Belle is having a nap -it just takes me so long to select and crop images before I have even decided what I am going to say on the actual post. I really need to do some extra short 'n' sweet posts to keep the blog updated more often. Here are some more of my style moments for my post pregnancy posts, these images were taken 7 months after Sylvie was born in July this year. The weather was rainy forever here in the UK and then finally, the sun came out....

Quiff week

My hair has been driving me crazy since I have been, very slowly, growing out the much loved undercut, I am now attempting to achieve a cute 1990s britpop bob. Although I can put in the britpop style hair grips I am a long way off from a bob haircut! Boo hoo! In an attempt to style the inbetween hairstyle, the quiff is always a winner.

Check out my cool little dudes above, this was a very difficult photo to achieve as Lucian and Mika seem to have a big problem with standing still!

My Peter Pan collar dress from Primark, Lucian -stripe tee from H&M & red trousers from Primark, Mika - Rock tee from H&M & red hoodie from Primark.

Bright colour & leopard print

Dress from Topshop, cardigan from H&M, red Converse low tops.

1950s Inspired

Dress - Topshop, sunglasses from Asos, necklace from Tatty Devine

Preppy 1950s

Gypsy top & 1950s cut jeans both from Vivien of Holloway

At Home she feels like a Tourist

My lovely husband Phil got me this Gang of Four tee for my birthday from 8ball.com who have a great range of band and rock tshirts. Gang of Four are one of my favourite New Wave bands, I bloody love 'em! I have had several compliments about this tee and I am always hoping that people are not thinking the old cliche 'I bet she has no idea who Gang of Four are.....'

My new dress!

It's always time for a new dress in my opinion, I picked up this sleeveless shirt style dress with cute swallow print from H&M and paired it with my trusty red belt and headscarf (I got bored of the quiff after a few days....)

I have a second batch of these images so will start putting them up over the next few days, before this I have to choose images from my club night Bang for the facebook page - check it out here www.facebook.com/bangbristol - which was last Friday and was lots of fun and very very hot! Rock'n'Roll! ND xx

It's too early for that dress......Post Pregnancy Fashion Dilemmas

It is now two and a half months since I had my lovely little lady Sylvie Belle and I have had many a fashion dilemma since shedding the gigantica belly and waiting for my normal body to come back....will you ever come back? I guess I should count myself lucky that I don't look like Jabba after three pregnancies and I am getting back to my old self even if it is a bit of a slow process. Dieting will never be an option for me, I like food and drink too much and I also can't be arsed!

So, here are some photos of what I have been wearing with any fashion dilemmas explained.

7 weeks post baby body......Think I was going for a bit of a teddy boy look here. I got the aztec style cardigan for Xmas, it's from New Look, the denim shirt I've had for a few years from Topshop, the jeans are my new high waisters from Topshop, I had to get some new jeans,at this point as I was about an inch away from fitting into my old jeans. I'm wearing my Brothel Creepers that I got from Office in the Autumn, I had stopped wearing them when I was pregnant as they didn't flatter my chunky legs! I've paired them with red socks for a cool contrast.

8 weeks post baby - I have to wear separates as I am still breast feeding Sylvie, you don't want to have to reveal your underwear whilst discreetly trying feed in public! I love dresses so I am finding this hard, it wipes out half of my wardrobe! I am actually missing the H&M bodycon dress that drove me mad as my staple garment during pregnancy. Stripey jumper from Topshop and bodycon skirt H&M.

Yey! I got to go out! Sadly not with my husband Phil, but with my pregnancy partner in crime Rudi! I got to wear a dress and everything cos I didn't have to feed. Exciting! I got to curl my hair and paint my nails (which I rarely have time for these days) I finished the hair off with a cute red headscarf. I wore my new Tiger print Topshop dress, aztec cardigan (as before) and long socks over spotty tights with my cute lace up wedges from New Look purchased last year. I didn't get much of a chance to wear these last year as I cannot wear heels when pregnant! I am pretty tall as it is and totally loose balance. I look like Joey Ramone, not in a good way!

The New Look wedges and spotty tights!

9 weeks PB - Aaaah! The old favourite red batwing hoodie from American Apparel, I feel all cosy just looking at it! Worn with my digital floral print (very on trend darrrrling) tapered jersey trousers from Topshop summer 2011 ( a present for my birthday from Phil, when I was 'up the duff' and needing elastic waisted trousers!) long socks (it's so cold here!) and red Converse low tops.

On the school run here wearing the aztec cardi again over my 'new favourite' American Apparel low cut front dress and leopard print tee from Topshop, legwarmers over tights.I cannot wear socks with these adorable Topshop wedge boots as the heavy wedge pulls them off! It is rather annoying and I can now only wear them with tights!

The reason this American Apparel dress is my 'new favourite' is that firstly it only cost me about £11 in the sale last year and secondly It's a dress I can wear whilst breast feeding as the front is so low! Brilliant!! It's really comfy too which is a bonus!

Going down the androgynous route again, hair quiffed up, that aztec cardi, Super Lovers tee, new topshop jeans and Converse. I could have tidied up before I took the photo but, I've got more important fashiony thing to do!

I'm all about the print here aztec cardi (I shall try not to wear this so much for the next photos....OMG, I'm wearing it now! I'm so predictable!) black vest (to hide stomach and for easy feeding) and my lovely leopard print Topshop trousers that I can finally do up properly! Finished off with quiff, Deirdre Barlow glasses and extra long scarf.

Forgot to mention I got my hair coloured and cut by the lovely Vikki Mac at Angela Gaudi in Bristol, here's a close up of the quiff. I am trying to grow my hair but Vikki Mac always has other ideas. Look what she did to me below, I made her blend the wedge in a bit, I don't want to look like a total freak on the school run! The colour is a new product we are trying out. I usually have my hair toned pink and have been doing it for a few years, It's my Pink Rinse. However the toner sadly doesn't last so long so Vikki tried something new which I must get the name of. The product is actually for black hair to make it shine but it seems to work on blonde as a colour, it's still in my hair now three weeks on! Love it!

My new leopard print Converse, another present from Phil for Xmas!

That's all I have for now, the next blog post will either be Spring Summer fashion or Syle Icons, I've been busy with Pinterest which also inspires me for more blogging! So much to do, so little time to waste! I'd better go now, it's half term and I've got Mummy things to do. Back soon ND xx
