Pinkie Pie

I've been growing out my blue hair for about 18 months which has progressed from a full head of luscious mermaid hair to a grown out natural colour with blue ends, kind of the opposite of dip dying. My natural hair came through & it turns out that after years of colouring my hair, I now have natural brown hair compared to the fair mousy blond that used to be there. I am also quite impressed to report that at the grand age of 40, I still have no grey hair! Whoop! I'm winning!

What are you gonna do with your hair next?? I hear this on a daily bases. People got so used to me changing my hair that they became quite confused when I grew out my crazy colour and just let things grow naturally, with no bleach or colours. I was enjoying this new found 'I'm just letting it grow out' answer, I also like to keep people on their toes. Whilst they are trying to guess my next hair style, I actually don't have a clue what I'm going to do with my hair next, it just kinda happens. There is never a plan......

How did I get to the decision of a pink fringe with a natural bob and then a hidden undercut with a tramline style pattern shaved in?? I have no idea but it happened like this......
I chose loads of images on pinterest ranging from very short and shaved bowl cuts, bobs, coloured fringes on long hair and a few undercuts chucked in. I knew I wanted a big change but I still wanted to be able to put my hair up, so the very short hair styles were substituted for the undercut. I needed to get rid of my frazzled bleached ends (the last of my grown out blue) and I had planned to colour my fringe a while back so this was deffo on the cards. I chose pink for the fringe and my great hair stylist buddy (who would like to remain nameless, lets just call her VM ) chose which pink, I let her make these types of decisions as, a) she has good taste b) I trust her &
c) I'm either being lazy or indecisive....VM then pulled the top of my hair up into a topknot to see how short we could go leaving enough hair for an updo then she shaved the undercut in and cut the hair (what will become the bob cut) to the shortest possible length. The pink went on after the bleach and the tramlines were just something VM added for fun. Voila! New hair! I proper love it!! It's still really versatile so I can style it up No Debutante stylee, here's a few styles I've tried out so far, there will be plenty more where these came from for sure! Thanks VM!!

Hey Babe, Your Hair's Alright....

With my holiday to Ibiza really close and a load of packing to consider, I thought I would catch up with you guys and show you a few more of my my recent hairstyles and updo's whilst I still have the time. I have recently had my hair coloured with even more blues and greens, perfect mermaid colours for the summer, but you shall have to wait until I reveal my beautiful mermaid hair! Here a few examples from June, the weather was getting warmer and plaits and braids seemed the way to go and, of course, a victory roll! I hope you have been practising and experimenting with your updo's ladies?? Remember it doesn't have to be perfect. You guys just need to rock the 1950s quiff, more rockabilly tough than Essex pretty boy please.
Which is your favourite?

Hey Babe, Your Hair's Alright.....

I can confidently say that I never run out of things to do with my hair. I have a massive collection of hairstyles on my Pinterest Hair Inspirations board so if I ever run out of ideas I check out my latest pins and have a go at the style! The best advice I could give anybody about trying out new hairstyles and updos is......just do it! Nobody knows (or cares for that matter) whether you have done it correctly or neatly, the fact is you've had a go. I can honestly say you will get more compliments for your new look than any cruel remarks, just act confidently and people will just be very complementary, I promise! I think the same thing about fashion styling but that's a whole different story, it's all about the hair today!

Two months ago, I had no idea how to do a french braid / plait, so I am really happy to be able to show you the braids I have managed to create on my own!! I am just loving braids and plaits at the moment for two reasons, one my sista fashionista Selena from Foxtrot Hair fame (check out the Dilly Debutante photo shoot collaboration here for those who missed it) is fantastic at braids and I was lucky enough to have her create some amazing braided styles in my hair which I loved, I am not able to braid around the back of my head yet, plus, I just like other people doing my hair for me! The other inspiration comes from Game of Thrones' Khaleesi's amazing platinum braided styles plus braids and plaits have been all over the catwalks too. I Love Braids!!

The Braids really have pushed aside my rockabilly victory rolls from the past year or so but that doesn't mean I will stop victory rolling my hair up, it just adds to the variety of styles in my hairdo collection, which I love! I have also become more inspired by the 1960s bouffant lately, I have been backcombing my hair for years but having longer hair I am now able to create longer looks with curls and bunches, the possibilities are endless!!

So check out the selection of hair styles and updos from May this year, I have so many different photographs that it looks like a hair post could become a monthly thing. I must apologise that the quality of a couple of the images isn't that great but alot of these pics were taken on the go, at least I had time to do my hair!! Expect flowers, finger waves, Victory rolls, pink hair, blue hair, curls, braids, backcombed bunches, buns, mermaids, quiffs and twists! Phew! All hairstyles by No Debutante. Hair colour by Vikki Mac. Which is your favourite?

See what I can do in a month? Get inspired and start styling up your hair today, practise makes perfect.....but not too perfect please, we are not looking for perfection!

Good Luck and thanks for following fashionistas. Join me very soon for more fashion fun!
