No Debutante - Work Work Work

We are still playing catch up with my personal style posts, so check out what I wore when I eventually went back to work after that holiday which I can't stop mentioning, did I tell you I went to Ibiza? So the weather was still hot so I could show off my tan in denim cut offs and sleeveless tops.

I love my leopard print Topshop sandals, I have had them for two summers now and they are still going strong. I'm not sure whether they were best sellers at Topshop as they bought them out again this year but I reckon it probably has something to do with the awful weather here in the UK last summer, that nobody was buying summer clothes, I barely got to wear them last summer.
The first outfit is definitely more Ibiza inspired but the second outfit is a bit smarter and got lots of compliments at the office. The shirt is one of my best bargains of the season and was from Primark. I cannot wait to go on my Primark Sunday trip for the new Autumn Winter ranges (for those of you who didn't know I blitz Primark each season for capsule seasonal pieces and I have never been disappointed) I think I will wait until September before I do this, even though the high street already has it's AW collections in.  I already have two Topshop bomber jackets waiting to be worn and I don't actually want to let Autumn in just yet! Don't leave me summer!!!

Thanks for reading and hope you had a lazy Sunday.

No Debutante - Dazed and Confused

So, without a moments hesitation I popped on my denim cut offs and wore them to work bare legs and all! I really shouldn't have worried, there was a freelance journalist wearing sports shorts and vest with a bikini top underneath!! Which even I would consider to be beach wear! It is so hot here in Bristol and there is so much skin on show that nobody cares. This may not be so weird for you guys who live in a warmer climate but us Brits were still wearing coats a few weeks ago!! We are dazed and confused but happy to see the sun!

Today I bared my midriff in a crop top, my legs were covered by my favourite maxi skirt and to make the outfit less black I broke it up with my sleeveless denim shirt and Topshop leopard print sandals. Both pieces of jewellery from Tatty Devine.
The sun is still out and it is now wine o'clock so less chat and more wine!! Here come the photos!

I forgot to mention the top image of The Specials tee and denim cut offs won an Editors Choice Award on WIWT.com which was pretty cool!! Thank you WIWT!!

Thank you for reading and hello to my new bloglovin' followers!!

Enjoy the sun!

No Debutante - Purple Haze

Another scorcher of a day today with more paddling pool action for me and little Sylvie. I braved it on the school run and got my legs out, I wore my rather short H&M skater skirt with my new Primark Coca Cola crop tee and leopard print sandals from Topshop. Since it was hot I tied my hair up into a top knot and wrapped a scarf round my head. I thought I was bearing too much skin for the school run at first but it was so hot, I really didn't consider it when I was there.

Yesterday for my Primark Sunday holiday shop I wore my black Primark maxi skirt, slowly becoming a summer favourite and, you guessed it, another crop top from New look this time and the summer essential, flip flops. I wore my hair down again too, which do you prefer hair up or down?? Again, I am happy either way!

Look at the amazing early morning haze on the second set of photographs, there were no effects put on these pics even the Instagram one, it really has been fantastic weather here in the UK and it is really getting me in the mood for Ibiza!! I cannot wait!!

Thanks so much for reading and hello to all my new Google+ followers!!

No Debutante - In a west end town in Denim World

My denim week continues and I am very happy that the weather is now warm enough for me to wear my dungarees without a massive cardigan or loads of layers thrown over the top. My rockabilly 1950s hair is getting bigger and more out of control and I can't wait to get it pinked up again for Phil's sister Dawn's wedding on Saturday!! I am also looking forward to wearing the new Zara dress and still need to find some shoes, maybe some earrings, a necklace, a bag! Little Sylvie still needs some shoes too and time is running out!! More shopping, you say? Oh, go on then!

Here are my outfits from the weekend which I mostly spent in our very warm and sunny garden (yes, the tights and creepers did have to come off as it got hotter). I also went out last night for a family trip to see Elvis Costello (who is so cool and rocked it) so you shall have to wait until next time to see what I wore. My parents had bought me and my brother Mike tickets as surprise birthday presents (it's my birthday next week!! Yey! I'm nearly, really old!!) We go and watch old bands together that are family favourites and these bands were generally the soundtrack to my childhood, where in my head, it was always summer! I hope my kids have the same memories!

I have been posting personal style pics everyday for a month on Instagram, check them out and follow me here http://instagram.com/nodebutante#  I also have fashion stills and photographs of my kids on there so I am planning a post of all my favourite Instagram photographs from the past month (mostly the ones without me in), I'm sure this will take me some time but watch this space!!

Thanks for reading, following or just checking out my blog, I am so happy that you are interested in what I have to share!! Especially all you facebook followers who silently follow me through Facebook and then I bump into you and you tell me you always read my blog and I had no idea you did!! You make me right happy!! Yey!!

No Debutante - Bournemouth Rock

I am currently in the process of finding the best way to create blog posts on the go, using my smart phone. Since I have joined Instagram and the newly found (thanks to fellow blogger Sian from Style With Friends) WIWT (What I Wore Today) both of these Apps allow me to instantly crop and post my outfit pics moments after I have taken them. I am supposed to be able to do this on Blogger but, I am not having much success as the images appear to take forever to upload and also you cannot crop images on Blogger or choose where you want them to go. I probably need to check out some info sites to find out more tricks and shortcuts to do stuff using a Smart phone but everything seems so much more complicated using the Blogger App than using Instagram or WIWT. It just isn't instant enough! I need to get used to using my blog as an instant tool rather than a more planned out and designed written piece of work. Although I do prefer to spend more time on my posts there are two reasons to be able to create easy, instant blog posts.
1) I do not have enough time for the longer detailed posts every day
2) I get so much more positive recognition and interest from both Instagram and WIWT on my daily personal style outfits over my blog and Pinterest put together.
The conclusion is that I will continue to write the more detailed blog posts but when time is short or when I am out and about, an instant post is deffo the way to go!

The following outfits were worn over the Bank Holiday weekend in Bristol and Bournemouth here in the UK. There was a lot of travelling and rushing about involved so I went for casual looks with lots of denim!! I am showing you two of the looks today and two more tomorrow. I did attempt to post this yesterday evening (whilst staying with friends) on my Smart phone with not much success!! More practise is needed....and a more efficient App!!

Find out more of what I have been wearing and some exciting WIWT news tomorrow!! Don't forget to check out my Instagram and WIWT posts (links on my blog homepage) for instant daily looks from me, No Debutante!!

Thanks for reading and hello to my new followers xx

It's too early for that dress - Post Pregnancy Fashion Dilemmas Part 11

This is the second part to the 7 months post pregnancy fashion dilemmas posts, I took a lot of images this month, for once! I have however failed to post short n sweet posts every/every other day, like I said I was going to do, it seems three blog posts a week is my limit at the moment.

I am pleased to announce that Sylvie now says 'Mumma'! Yey! However, the tone of the way she says Mumma is not like the chirpy, melodic, happy way she sings 'Dada'...Oh no....Sylvie has learnt to say Mumma for one reason only, to get my attention! It's more of a demand if anything, but I shouldn't complain, at least she is saying my name now!

You can tell the weather has finally changed in the UK from the next  set of photographs, I've got sandals on and everything!!

The weather was really humid but it still rained here so at this point I was still in half summer half spring outfits -arms showing legs covered up!
I have sleeked my hair into a short side parting in this pic the wispy sides have not grown properly since I (randomly) shaved them off with my Dad's disposable razor when I was 12, I have been into undercuts for a long time it seems! To conclude, I cannot get those side bits to stay behind my ears for the life of me....it's very annoying!

Dress from Rico at Topshop
I can't actually wear this dress as a dress without wearing leggings underneath, it's so short, my body is really long and the front fastenings open up and show off your pants!! (That's your underwear in the UK for any international followers).

Let's get Physical

I have managed to adapt  the crop top look without revealing any midriff, inspired by American Apparel and the 1980s penchant for aerobic wear. I wear my crop tops over my basic bodycon dresses and layer it up, it creates a new silhouette for me which I like! It is bodycon 80s but made softer with the layering and it conceals the baby belly that secretly still blubbers a bit beneath the clothing!

I have also created crops tops from old vests and tops that I already have, by tying them in a knot at the sides and and twisting up the shoulder straps, the trick is to show off all the layers and to make each layer different on the straps etc.The pink top below was a real cheap, thread bare neon vest that has now been giving a new life!

Black bodycon dress from H&M, Blue crop top from Primark, name necklace from Tatty Devine.

The above pics were taken on my 36th Birthday just before Phil took me and the kids (no babysitters!!) out to my favourite Italian Restaurant in Bristol. I thought I'd dress up for the occasion and wore the  bodycon layering with my wedge boots, that I have only worn twice before, once on Xmas day, they nearly killed me then, I'd just had a baby and didn't have the balance for heels! I also wore them to my cousins 40th in London a few weeks ago but there is no photo evidence as I started drinking really early! Enough said!
I had a great birthday with lots of amazing food, wine and champagne! Mika declared he wanted to go to the Italian restaurant every day for breakfast and that the garlic bread was the best he's ever had! So sweet!
The boots were fine by the way, I just had to concentrate real hard when walking!

Dress as before, Neon vest (customised into a crop top) from H&M, Earrings and Necklace both from Tatty Devine, Cardigan from Primark,  Boots from Office Sale were approx £90 I got them for £20. Whoop!

New leopard mock fur sandals!!
It had taken me until June this year to find the perfect sandals, well here they are, bought them with my birthday money. Right happy!

This top was actually bought as a dress but after the first wash it shrank, even though I followed the wash instructions!! Very annoying! I have been put off buying from this label ever since, which is a shame!
I was on my way to a 5 year olds birthday party (Rock n Roll), it was a very muggy day but I didn't feel like getting the legs out, so a bright backless top, jeans and leopard print sandals seemed like the best thing to keep me cool.

Top (bought as a dress) from Motel at Topshop, Jeans and sandals from Topshop.

Crop n bodycon again! Ignore me though this is all about Sylvie's outfit, it's the white trash, hillbilly, Dexys Midnight Runners (Come on Eileen era) bare chest and dungarees look. Sylvie rocks it!

We were off to watch Sylvie's Daddy play in his band The Relay Rips as part of the annual Bristol Harbour festival, it was the hottest day of the year!!!

Sylvie wears dungarees from H&M Kids

Bright Print Clash

Another hot day and off to the park.......It's the first week of the schools summer holidays, the park was rammed like a bad day in Benidorm! I dressed brightly for the occasion so the kids couldn't lose me.

Neon green vest from and bodycon dress both H&M, Floral leggings by Versace for H&M, Leopard sandals as before.

Hot Summer, Hot Hot summer.....At last...

I finally got a bit of colour.......on my face and...er....arms....a bit patchy some might say...I have fooled you with an almost toned looking (be it very white) torso it was so hot I had to strip off the jeans I had been wearing for these baggy denim cut offs that are also great for hiding my baby podge belly. I have to admit I do look alright and I have pretty much lost all of the baby weight visually, I have not actually weighed myself though, not brave enough I guess. I'm not sure I would venture out of the house dressed like this but for lazing about in my garden it fine.

Top (rolled up into a crop top) from Vivien of Holloway and customised denim cut offs.

I still have a back log of images????? What the?? I think I shall be posting about something different next time, a bit of A/W 2012 fashion perhaps or maybe a style icon? ND XX
