Transitional Traumas!

As the seasons change and winter begins to loom over us like a bad dream (yeah, I hate the winter! ) it's time to take a look at what No Debutante has been wearing in these transitional months.

There is nothing more exciting than the arrival of Spring and not having to wear a coat anymore, well for a few months anyway, and what about the freedom of being able to wear just shorts and a vest top every day? I really look forward to that time of year and that side of transitional fashion but the other end of transitional fashion just doesn't appeal to me at all!

I do not embrace the colder weather, I am, without a doubt, a summer person. I will admit to romanticising over the idea of being able to wear my faux furs and beanie hats again but this will be short lived, soon I will realise that I will have to wear overcoats and winter woollies every day, for half a year or more, (the weather in the UK honestly sucks) I think I am already over it!

September started like this, I had a glowing tan and I was still refusing to even consider wearing extra layers. Realising I wasn't in Majorca anymore, I allowed a half cover up of a long sleeve hoodie or trousers but that was all, it was still crop tops a go-go for No Debutante.

I subtly added a red beret - that I had spotted in Vogue magazine on my holidays and thought I could probably pull it off - into the mix late September , but, slowly, the cold crept in with October, which is where you find me now, wearing scarves, tights and cardigans! I am absolutely furious!

From happily leaping about in summer layers to warm layers and bloody tights! (Still managing to sneak a crop top under those layers though!)
Bringing in transitional styling with sporty shorts and popper pants

My super comfy striped Duvet Days co-ord is a perfect transitional outfit and can be worn layered up with jackets and boots as the cold kicks in.

Introducing the No Debutante new favourite Topshop Vinyl beret! Yeeeeessssss!

Bringing in the clashing prints this Autumn in Keith Haring style monochromes and my newly purchased vintage crop jacket (that makes me feel like a late 1980s pop star,)
both pair up a treat with that beret and some Tezla earrings!

October Transitions

As October 2016 began I was at the beach getting an end of the summer surf in before the cold weather arrives. The weather was great and the surf was good, without a pair of tights or a jacket in sight, not bad for October in England (or Porthcawl in Wales on this occasion). This brings me to the subject of transitional dressing, having to slowly add extra layers to your outfit can be quite daunting, you have to get creative and not just get yourself dressed up to then go and hide all your hard work underneath a warm coat....the whole look has to work, not just the first layer.  I personally have a collection of outer garments from knitwear, jackets and coats so that my whole outfit works, even when it's freezing, love your outerwear too!!

Here are few recent No Debutante style outfits where the transitional dressing has already started to sneak in. I refuse to go straight into full blast Autumn, I'm almost ignoring it, hoping it might go away.......

Fendi Furrrrr

After a very slow burner of an Autumn here in the UK (with winter profits at Topshop and other high street stores at an all time low due to the very mild autumn weather we have been having) we are now told that we need to wrap up, apparently, the snow is a-comin!? Snow? I only just got used to wearing a jacket, now I have to wrap myself up in big coats, furs and knitwear?

Since there are hundreds of unsold fur coats currently available on the high street let's get inspired by the Fendi AW collection and adorn ourselves in (fake) furs and add a few bags and head pieces to match, it's head to toe (fake please) furs this winter! I am not going to go on about wearing real or fake furs, it is the individuals choice, but since the Fendi furs have neon accents and look more Muppet fur than animal, then wear fake. Why would you want to wear real animal fur that has been made to look (colour wise) like Muppet fur?

Views aside, the collection looks great, I love the styling with it's mix of punk and tribal influences and the playful furry bags with the fur ball accessories with eyes! That sounds a bit sick too since it probably is real fur but I would love a fake fur version and they really do look Muppet-like! You know how I do love a bit of fun/anti-fashion! This is right up my fashion street!
The hair is worn in a long fishtail plait with the fur head piece attached on top like a big furry mohican, the lips and nails are painted in dark purple hues and the fur is on everything from oversized futuristic sunglasses to your shoes!! There is no limit to your fur adornment this winter! I love my fur coats (yep, all fake) in my opinion you can never have enough of them. So get yours and wrap up this winter, fur mohican optional.

Watch this space for more personal style posts and current fashion obsessions, I'm off to find all my Fendi inspired garments and accessories, in time for the Big Freeze! Brrrrrrrrrr!
