Catching up with Bristol 24/7 - Part 2

It's amazing how your brain becomes so open and inspired when you are away from your usual life, whilst on holiday I must have truly gone into relax mode as I sat on a sun lounger in the baking heat of Mallorca, my head just started filling up with so many ideas for blogging and writing and life in general, I found myself positively inspired.
There is no saying I will carry out all of my new ideas but being away from my natural surrounding had opened a door which seemed, not completely shut but a little blocked somehow....blocked with life and all it's paraphernalia. 
One of my decisions made during this inspiring time was to write more No Debutante blog posts and articles for the Bristol 24/7 website, I really enjoy writing so why not do more of what you like?

Young Bristolian artists put on a show to remember

A group of emerging young artists from the North Bristol Post-16 Centre exhibited a creative display of contemporary textiles, art and photography for their End of Show extravaganza at Centrespace Gallery. Read more here

Love Saves The Day is the perfect name for the annual Eastville Park festival with a rainbow clash of everything that glitters and sparkles mixed with a bohemian/streetwear mash up. Read more here

Revamp, restyle, reuse

The Revamp, Restyle, Reuse event, part of Fashion Revolution Week, took place in Bristol Energy Hub. Designers and lovers of recycled fashion worked in collaboration with Bristol upcycling heroes Emmaus Bristol, Bristol Textile Recyclers (BTR) and Kecks Clothing. Read more here

Catching up with Bristol 24/7

Oh my gosh it is hot, hot, hot, here in Bristol! We are literally melting, we love it but our little English houses literally can't take the heat! With Glastonbury Festival on the horizon, which looks to be a scorcher, we are learning how to dress for the summer months, we have to 'learn' how to dress for this sort of heat as we only dress this way when we are off on our holidays and hanging out by the pool, we have no idea how to respond to wearing a very light summery outfit to work!? Can't I just wear my bikini?

The Fashion Front is an awe-inspiring and exciting Bristol-based fashion show, bringing together local creatives with community groups. Their showcase is a fashion extravaganza with a colourful, fun-filled vibe. Following their incredibly successful debut show in 2016, the Fashion Front has thankfully returned for another year, supporting the Bristol fashion community and promising a scorching hot and glamorous fashion show that should not be missed. Collaborating with many Bristol independent homeware designers, That Thing‘s interiors range incorporates contemporary, hand painted and geometrically cut plant pots, gorgeous handmade cushions, cool copper piping lamps, wired lampshades and graphic printed mugs all mixed in with retro rarities: perfect items to fill your modern vintage home. A passion for fashion - Bristol 24/7

Spring has been a very busy month for No Debutante and Bristol fashion. With the fabulous Fashion Front show, fun filled Revamp Restyle Reuse and the launch of streetwear queens That Thing's Spring Summer collection and still another event with the Fashion Front Bzzaar on the horizon plus a few kick ass Bristol gigs chucked in here and there, Spring has certainly sprung big time!  

Here's quick flashback to the beginning of the year when the Creative Youth Network created and inspiring range with young Bristol creatives and No Debutante shared the Bristol fashion love as Fashion Editor for Bristol 24/7.

Young people with a passion for fashion have been taught practical skills in upcycling, visual merchandising and styling with an aim to start a fashion portfolio. Read more here

Hey fashionistas! Lots has been happening with Bristol fashion including the Fashion Front show, shop launches and Fashion Revolution Week in full swing with a That Thing new collection launch party on this Sunday, there's a lot to do!

Fresh Prints

Hey hey Fashionistas! It's been a busy month for No Debutante, I have met and interviewed Bristol independent Fashion brands True Soldier and the newly opened Recreo for Bristol 24/7, with two more Bristol fashion events coming up in April including the brilliant Fashion Front fashion show and a fashion salvage event with Kecks Clothing for Fashion Revolution Week. Get yourself down to both of these events, No Debutante will be there photographing and documenting whilst interviewing and even helping to judge the fashion salvage competition! Come and join the fashion fun!

No Debutante has also been working on a few projects of her own with local photographers and going back to my fashion designers roots which I am really excited about. Watch this space for more on this.......

What has No Debutante been wearing this April? Still not managing to shake off the tights and layers in this breezy country, I have flooded April with colours and prints to brighten things up! Expect lots of boldly printed shirts, mashed up with sportswear and Dr Martens shoes (my latest treat to myself for working full time). I love to mix smart with sports, try it, it's not as bad as it sounds!

When colour clashing I like to add a pair of my favourite Tezla earrings, there are so many colours and styles of Tezla to choose from, there is always a pair to suit any outfit!

My bowl cut hairdo, changes colour by the day, how?? I have my bleached hair coloured pink and as I wash it the Crazy Color slowly fades out leaving random sections pink and washing out of other sections. It goes a lovely fruit salad colour, who needs mood enhance hair colours eh? 

I'm still loving Monki's oversized and peplumed dresses, they hang so well and have oversizing just right! I just have to keep going on about them even though I really don't want to big up corporate brands (high street giants H&M own Monki), good styling and cutting just can't be ignored!

Slip dresses, culottes and sportswear will be following me into the summer months, hopefully without so many layers and few more, bare legged opportunities! I'm actually cold whilst I am writing this, come on summer, come and play, spring is being a dick!

FASHION NEWS FLASH

I am very, very excited to announce that all this fashion blogging has finally paid off! 

No Debutante is now the Fashion Editor for Bristol 24/7

I am honoured to take this role promoting Bristol Fashion, local independent designers and sustainable fashion, continuing my work in getting Bristol Fashion on the Fashion Map as serious contenders as I have on the No Debutante blog........Don't worry, the No Debutante blog will of course continue as the underground fashion blog it always has been with No Debutante OOTD, Fashion styling ideas, new collections, sustainable and of course Bristol Fashion as well as all the No Debutante news! 
I look forward to sharing my first Bristol 24/7 article with you as soon as it is published. I am sooooo excited!!!! 

Not content with one creative job, I shall also be sharing my other new job with you, yes I have two new jobs! Watch this space for more news on this & a few fashion collabs are on their way to the blog very soon.......WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
