No Debutante - Happy Shopper

I am very excited today as I have just realised I now have 100 Google+ followers! Whoop! I am really, really happy that you are all interested in all my fashion moments, current obsessions, personal style, my somewhat alternative lifestyle and what I have say, I am right chuffed!! Thank you xx

Today we are having a look at some more personal style outfits that I wore back in Sept, It's nearly November (What???) so let's get cracking!
The first outfit was worn on a day about town in Bristol with my family (Phil and the kids) as I recall we visited a few skate shops where Phil purchased some jeans from the Levis Skateboarding Collection, I have to agree they look pretty cool on him, I really must do a fashion post on his skate attire, he will hate the idea, which just encourages me to persuade him to do it! We ended up buying Sylvie a Hello Kitty skatedeck (Girl X Mike Carroll) Phil's excuse was that it will be a piece of art for her wall and she can skate on it when she's older! It looks the cutest, some of you may have seen it on my last Instagram post. For the skate shop tour I wore my Kuccia bomber jacket with a crop top, denim cut offs and leopard print Converse, I couldn't decide on which bomber jacket (both from Topshop) to wear but opted for the Kuccia for a bit more colour, I love both though! Why didn't I buy anything on this shopping trip? Well, I was saving up all my energy for my Primark Sunday shop that I went on the following day and I was very excited about this kids free shop too!!
I have added a couple of images of Mika and Sylvie from the skate shop tour day, the Instagram (second Mika image) of Mika has attracted a lot of interest on Instagram, it's had nearly 100 likes and this rises on a daily bases. Mika's personal style pic has more likes than I have ever had on Instagram and I can't even take the credit because he styled himself on that day! I am really proud of the stylish little boy though. I taught him all he knows!
On Primark Sunday (second outfit) I wore quite a simple outfit, I usually always wear a skirt and tights on a shopping trip so I can try on dresses and skirts easier and to see what they look like with tights (in the UK you spend most of your time covering up your legs due to the colder climate). So I wore my skater skirt, Sonic youth tee, a denim jacket and my leopard Converse again. I like it that the whole outfit is not new, the jacket is one of my hoarded vintage ones, I just like to mix and match (or miss-match in most cases) my whole wardrobe mixing old and new items, sometimes the whole outfit ends up being old stuff which keeps me believing that keeping (certain items) for years is a good thing! I can wear my vintage, my Primark and my designer stuff all at once and that makes me happy!!

So, what did I buy on Primark Sunday?? You'll have to wait and see.....

Watch this space to see what Autumn Winter goodies I bagged from Primark back in September. Two bags?? Exciting!!

Thanks for following and see y'all soon xx

No Debutante - I Love Summer Dresses

I have been up to all sorts lately including attending late night leaving parties, meeting new contacts for exciting blog features and collaborations, planning and designing my new bespoke kitchen and booking more holidays!! I'm always really busy and that's the way I seem to like things, doing one hundred projects at once whilst looking after my kids, working and blogging.

I was in a bit of a girlie mood in today's personal style pics. I wanted to wear the Miss Selfridge dress again that I wore to my friends Rob and Ruth's rock'n'roll wedding, it is such a pretty and summery dress that it needs to be worn in the sunshine! I dressed it down with a denim jacket and converse and wore my hair down in both outfits, I hadn't realised how blond my hair is now ever since it was bleached by the sun in Ibiza. Ha! I had to mention it again didn't I?? I love the detail on front panel of this dress and the way the back of the dress is the full floral print and different from the front, extra details always please me!

I seemed to like the whole denim jacket, Converse and skater dress theme and did it again with my favourite Topshop Hawaiian print peephole dress.  It's a very summery look and I really do not want to let Autumn in, although I have started to pine for wearing jackets again. I am grateful for this hot weather as most of the year in the UK it is cold and rainy so I will have plenty of time for those jackets and Dr Marten boots!! The end for sandals and flip flops is nigh! Yikes!

So, what's next? Well, there are plenty of personal style posts to share and I have some new beauty products to try out and show you, a label collaboration is also on the cards (tbc) and I still need to show you my favourite looks from the next season and how I shall be wearing them. Let's say bomber jackets are my new favourite obsession!!

Hello to my new followers and thanks to you all for reading.

No Debutante - MaxiMum

I'm very excited as it is only one sleep until my dear friend and fellow blogger Selena ( aka Dilly Foxtrot Investigates - find her fantastic childrenswear blog here http://dillyfoxtrot.blogspot.co.uk/) is coming to stay this weekend. Selena is a children's wear designer / blogger , Pinterest obsessive, sista fashionista and general inspirational lady (who also has three kids including twin girls - well done to her!!). I love to hang out with Selena chatting about all things fashion, kids and taking trips down memory lane back to our time spent together on alcohol fuelled nights in Leicester, before we managed to have six kids between us!! What????
I am looking forward to a bit of browsing around shops, taking photos, perhaps a visit to one of the four festival (yes, four festivals) to watch some bands and live art shows that are happening in Bristol this weekend, some good food, wine and fashion inspired chitty chat! Phil's band The Relay Rips are playing a gig at the Upfest Festival later on in the evening so Selena and I will end up back at my house, for more wine. food and babysitting - this was not supposed to happen but somehow Selena's visit had been double booked (Phil's / The Relay Rips fault) with one of Phil's gigs!!

Today I wanted to wear my maxi skirt, it is freezing in Bristol with a cold wind, not the best day for no tights and crop tops. I love my boxy, vintage, denim jacket, god knows where it came from, I found it in our attic - we have many treasures like this in the attic as we are shocking bad hoarders which sometimes works out well for us!! The jacket probably came from a charity shop find during the 1990s but I'm not really sure if it is mine or Phil's. My adorable little Sylvie Belle has joined me in this photo shoot, she is too cute!!

It was my last day at work today for a week, so I am looking forward to some holiday fun starting with Selena's visit!

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading kids!

No Debutante - Jean Jeanie

I have been called out of work early today due to my son Lucian feeling unwell. I am still on the fence as to whether Lucian is actually poorly or felt like getting the day off school (it wouldn't be the first time) but the school are on it calling parents up at the whiff of any minor illness so Lucian was going home either way! As a parent I feel guilty for thinking these thoughts but I was a child too and had many a fake afternoon off school much to my Mums annoyance! As a good Mum I shall hope Lucian feels better soon! The positive side to this skive off work and school is that I get to do a bit of blogging leaving my evening free to watch a film and have a glass of wine with my gorgeous husband Phil.

This personal style post features double denim, layering, grunge,1950s styling and how I wear jeans.......in a general mash up of style it would seem!

Preppy 1950s styling

I have decided not to list the shops in which my items are purchased on every post but I will let you know when I get something new and where it came from. You are welcome to ask me though, I know my rainbow creeper boots post has been very helpful to all who also wanted to own those ridiculous shoes!

I have no clue whether you can still nominate me for the Best Personal Style Blog in the Company Style Blogger Awards 2013 as there is no info on the website to say when the deadline is so I'll just keep plugging it until 2014!

No Debutante - Inspired by Ashish

As you have probably seen on my last blog post I have entered the Company Style Blogger Awards 2013. I am, of course, hoping to win with my niche being a fashion blogger over 30s in the Best Personal Style Blog section. My good friend and fellow blogger Dilly Foxtrot facebooked me, telling me I had to enter my blog, which was a great compliment! Thanks Dilly!

I will need to keep the personal style blog up-to-date as much as possible if I am going to get shortlisted for the awards. Wish me luck and nominate me here http://www.company.co.uk/magazine-hq/stylebloggerawards2013

During the last week I have been inspired by my Brimful Of Ashish post from last week  check it out here http://no-debutante.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/brimful-of-ashish-ss-2013.html and have recreated the Ashish SS 2013 collection my way, many of the garments from my Primark Sunday post are featured in this weeks outfits.

Side top knot with scarf

Denim details and white embroderie anglaise

Tailored denim with sheer print details worn with oversized jeans and hidden wedge high tops (instead of the Ashish white Reeboks).

Headband worn as a scrunchie

Oversized layering

Crop top over denim shirt and tapered jeans worn with tube socks

OK, so I think I managed to cover washed out denims, rolled up tapered jeans, mash up denims, layering, sheer panels, ankle socks, tailored shirts and jackets, I even had my Dierdre Barlow glasses on at work (I forgot to pop them on for the photographs!) and the vital scrunchie topknot!
Thank you Ashish for the inspiration!!
