Loves Saves The Day again!

As the festival season is in full flow, I would like to share the No Debutante moments from my fave festival,  Love Saves The Day in Bristol!

There are many fantastic moments from this weekend back in May, from meeting so many festival fashionistas as I roamed around, looking for the best dressed and latest festival fashion trends for Bristol 24/7 Magazine. My LSTD partner in crime & bestie Rachael joined me, workin her head wrap, Gangster Wraps earrings, Tatty Devine tiger necklace, Monki shirt dress and sparkly leopard print leggings with me in my amaze new monochrome Manners jumpsuit, purchased at the That Thing festival fashion launch party, worn with monochrome Tezla earrings and a Butchi and GosMos bumbag! Yeeessss!

Getting ready to go to Love Saves The Day at my house with my oldest friend Rachael

We loved hanging out with one of my oldest buddies Chris who was working backstage at LSTD.

SEQUINS SEQUINS SEQUINS at Kuccia as part of The Fashpack crew

We hung out with The Fashpack team who supply a fashion fest of glitter and sparkles from their treasure tent, as the place to go get your obligatory (and sustainable) glitter face paint did and all your fashion fixes from sequined kimonos and bodysuits from Kuccia, heart or daisy shaped sunnies and vintage gems from That Thing, feathered headdresses from Zedhead Headwear, jumpsuits and co-ords made from saris from Dulcie's Feathers and festival fashion galore!

The weather was scorchio after mad rain and thunder storms at the beginning of both days, which saw people cutting down their welly boots and stripped down to barely there outfits, it couldn't have been any better and the sunshine just added to the whole fun-filled vibe!

A few members of SisterWorks were representing female DJs over the weekend including Frau DJs, who I shall be collaborating with as a Bang DJ at this years Pride (more on this very soon) and Dutty Girl DJs DissMiss and SafeSoul who were killing it at the Cocktails and Dreams stage on the Sunday.

I arrived at the festival solo on the Sunday wearing a crop top and my Duvet Days striped trousers and silver Reebok trainers. I dropped in on the Dutty Girl set and found myself taking photos of their crowd of dancers and handing out SisterWorks stickers to everyone - SisterWorks is a Bristol based female empowerment collective that I am part of, for those who didn't know -  It was great to see lots of young men wearing our stickers, not for the eye candy you understand (LOLs) I'm not sure they completely got it but to have them promote SisterWorks whilst dancing to female DJs was empowering! Yeah, yeah, it is equality that we are looking for and it shouldn't matter whether the DJs were women or not but one step at a time, right?

Loved these girls style twinning in fur hats, matching skirts and lace tights on such a boiling hot day!

Rainbow Bright - No Debutante's best dressed award!

The icing on the cake was bumping into Loyle Carner before he went on to perform! I was completely starstruck, I really like his music and love the style and tone of his vocals and yeah, he is  (too young for you.....Loyle Carner reference from Damnselfly) so sweet. I am sure that myself and fellow fashionista/mum, Zoe (from Zedhead Headwear) terrified poor Loyle Carner and Sampha (yes, two musicians in one swoop) as they finished their lunch, but Zoe insisted on meeting her music hero Sampha and I was not gonna stop her for a chance to meet Loyle!

I managed to get myself right at the front of the Loyle Carner performance with my lovely new Lumix camera and got some great shots, considering I wasn't aloud over the barrier to take photos with the official photographers. Who needs access all areas eh?

There were so many moments and I had the best time at this brilliant Bristol festival, just 20 minutes walk from my house! If you would like to know more about the festival fashionistas, check out my article for Bristol 24/7 Love Saves The Day Festival Fashion special

Love Saves The Day - Saturday Fashion edit

No Debutante had the most amazing time as a fashion correspondent for the brilliant Loves Saves The Day festival in Bristol, last week. The fashion was off the hook featuring everything from boho festival fashion, urban sports to street style fashionistas and everything glitter and glam. The urban flower children were out on show and everyone was so happy to chat about their outfits and have their photographs taken, LSTD have a real friendly crowd and the festival was buzzing.

No Debutante roamed about the festival with partner in crime and bestie Rachael (aka for the day Queen Latifah), meeting people and chatting all things LSTD and Bristol fashion, there will be videos and interviews available to view real soon on the new No Debutante youtube channel, where you will get to join the No Debutante world of fashion fun, so watch this space for the official launch!

The festival vibes were in full swing, rain or shine but there was a lot of hard work being put in behind the scenes of the different fashion stalls that were available from The Fash Pack and other collaborators including Boo Dior

The Fash Pack who are a collaboration of Bristol designers and creatives who come together supplying festival fashion, headdresses, glitter make-up, glitter beards, vintage clothing and the festival must have, the bumbag. The Fash Pack creator Joh Rindom, from Bristols fashion brand, That Thing, impressively co-ordinates The Fash Pack tent supplying festival go'ers with everything they need to deck themselves out in full festival rigour, nobody left The Fash Pack tent without being glittered and glammed up! Yeeesss!!

There will be more to come from No Debutante on the LSTD festival fashion vibes with Bristol 24/7 magazine and due to the amount of fabulous fashion moments at the LSTD festival, this blog post will be a two parter. Whoop! Well done Bristol, you beautiful people!

Christmas Wrapping - The Dilemmas Of What To Wear To The Work Christmas Party

I had the chance to write and extra blog post this week due to having the house to myself, well, nearly myself there are a few workmen about the place adding the finishing touches to my lovely new loft conversion, which will be finished before Christmas......won't it? So, yeah the reason we are having the loft conversion is to give us an extra floor in our home which was very much needed after filling the house with children, whom are currently out of the house so let's get on with blogging!

Anyone who follows me on my social networking pages will know I had a big fashion dilemma with what I should wear to my work Christmas party. I realised my error when I agreed to attend this work do without taking any consideration about what the hell I would wear. Generally I do not attend these kind of corporate events, I usually get to dress down everywhere I go, even when I'm dressed up, I've managed to dress it down, in a glamorous way, of course. Still confused? Well, let's just say, I understand how to dress for a wedding but a sparkly and glamourous outfit with heels for a Christmas party??? I realised I was out of my comfort zone.......that is until I remembered I had the most amazing colourful, sparkling, sequined covered Louise Gray X Topshop shift dress!!!!!!!! How could I forget it???? I have worn this dress out, only once, when I sang and DJ'd at my club night Bang's tenth Birthday party nearly two years ago. The dress also made a brief appearance on the No Debutante blog in a photo shoot collaboration but that doesn't count.
So, I have the dress, problem solved you may think? No sorry, there where more issues. The first being the strategically placed stars that may appear a bit risque for a work do? I did take a moment or two to consider this but then decided against it, it's not a problem, it's just a fantastic dress! End of....Not quite, this is when things got really scrambled (in my head) I thought I would just wear some shimmery sheer tights which are very flattering and added sparkle to the whole Glam outfit, I had already decided I was definitely wearing my platform heeled white sandals from Topshop, bang on trend and frankly I just love them and don't get to wear them, plus I really cannot stand to match up my accessories with my outfit too much, it's too twee for me, as I have said before I just buy an item because I like it, I never consider if I have anything in my wardrobe to go with it, so really the outfit was sorted.
I then I thought I'd just try on my glittery, very colourful and stripey Meadham Kirchhoff  X Topshop tights, now this look was totally No Debutante style, a Fash Clash Mash up of colours, prints and sparkles! If I was attending any other event (perhaps not a wedding) a would wear this outfit. It looked fabulous! I then did a very un-No Debutante thing and went for the first more flattering, less outrageous outfit. Why you may ask? I did it because, although I know I have blue hair and never wear the clothes I probably should wear to work and always want to be a fashion outsider, I think the dress with the stars on the boobs, with a smiley face covered in pink, blue, red and gold sequins worn with blue bouffant hair and white platform shoes was quite No Debutante enough, I love standing out, of course, but I do not want to be a clown, I didn't want to wear what everyone would expected me to. Well, you always have to leave an element of surprise in there somewhere, don't you? The name of this look? Sixties Underwater Mermaid Alien.....Its catchy.

Apologies for the random snap shots about my home with messy worktops, I am a mother of three who barely goes out, doesn't have hours of time to get ready and take lots of blog photographs before leisurely heading out. It was more leave work, pick kids up from school, throw a small birthday tea party for my three year old, hand over the gauntlet to my husband Phil and get ready to party in 30 minutes (including hair and nails) so you can understand my predicament! As long as I looked good doing it eh?

All clothing from Louise Gray X Topshop, Topshop & Meadham Kirchhoff  X Topshop

Thanks for joining me today.
