I'm all about the prints

Print clash winter fash

The colder it gets the more I want to wear bright colours & bold prints, with the big chill upon us, let's look how we can style up prints, colours & layers this long winter, No Debutante style.

My style is quirky, I throw stuff together to see if it works & mostly it does. I do not take my styling too seriously & I often get inspiration from designers & people who are equally as quirky. It makes for a fun world!

I have been on the look out for printed trousers lately, it is my current obsession. I had some lucky finds at Monki with the polka-dot & striped trousers (see below for these bold printed gems) & today I have resurrected my leopard print leggings (purchased at H&M about 5 years ago).

Leopard print has been all over the AW 2018 fashion shows but I seriously overdid leopard print a few years back, I ended up with a tonne of leopard print everythings, which then put me off it, too much of a good thing really can be too much! It's been a few years now & I have decided to let leopard print back in to life....just a little.....

No Debutante loves these Monk polka-dot trousers paired up with the Fruit Salad red batwing crop hoodie

Bringing leopard print back with print clashed styling & lots of layers

Pirate inspo - Monki stripe trousers worn with an oversized Fruit Salad long sleeve tee

Everyones fave - The amazing polka-dot jumpsuit from The White Pepper

Lazy Oaf drops G.E.M a super cute new label with balls

Lazy Oaf have dropped the cutest new collection named G.E.M, a venture label to Lazy Oaf by founder Gemma Shiel, who wants to make G. E.M a fashion label for girls with balls! Gemma wanted this new label to be even more surreal and weird, with an element of glamour, mystery and excitement! This is all sounds right up No Debutante's street! There are some rock'n'roll punk elements to the first G.E.M collection with a pastel cute aspect that Lazy Oaf are known and loved for, G.E.M adds some rebellious glamour that makes it stand apart from Lazy Oaf's goofy-cool streetwear style. Check out my favourite pieces below and sigh over their beautifullness....

Current Obsessions - Libertine RTW - A festival of colour

If there is a designer that can take you from the summers glittery, colour wash of festival vibes to a bright and shimmery winter it has to be Johnson Hartig's, Ready to wear collections for Libertine

There are certain pieces that have caught No Debutante's eye from both the 2017 and 2018 collections. With glistening sportsluxe tracksuits, Warhol's pop art bananas on tweed granny coats and joggers to tie dye smothered hoodies. With retro style jumpers, print clashes and the return of leopard print, this time in XL prints.  It's a metallic glam, print clash, streetwear mess and will cheer up any winter! Napoleon hat optional!

Oversized tie dye hoodies a must for this winter!

Super shine sequin emblazoned bomber jackets are everywhere this winter. Get inspired!

No Debutante - Double Dutch

I seem to wear a lot of double denim, I don't do it consciously, I just own a lot of denim! I have a denim obsession. I love denim! Here are two prime examples of my double denim obsessions worn quite differently. Look out for my special guest who also loves a bit of double denim!

The first outfit features my new favourite tartan and denim mix cut offs from Primark, my old Topshop denim shirt layered over a black vest and accessorised with a headscarf, Dr Martens and a matching baby. Sylvie Belle's tartan and denim mix dress is from Next and is supercute!

The second outfit is more workwear inspired and features my Topshop dungarees and denim/leopard print Primark shirt worn with a long wavy fringe, a head scarf, frilly ankle socks and my Underground creepers. I do love this outfit but the camera was not loving me on this day so there is only one usable photograph to show you on this occasion. I am happy with my choice in outfit though so that's the main thing!

I hope you liked today's outfits and watch this space for the next post which will feature something very new and permanent about me. I am very excited about sharing it with you, if you can't wait until then check out my Instagram to find out spoilers!! Click on the Instagram link on my blog home page and follow if you like or just have a nose about, I really don't mind! Have a good day and thanks for reading xx

No Debutante - Cool For Cats

I love leopard print, have done for years, I pretty much own every type of clothing and accessories possible to own in leopard print, except sunglasses, I need some leopard print sunglasses, then I'm there! Here are a couple of outfits from this Autumn which feature my favourite animal print.

The first outfit features my leopard print fur which is pretty much vintage H&M now, I wore it with my Miss Selfridge rose print skater dress and Converse with my hair swept up into a bun adding a bit of early sixties glamour to my Monday morning school run!

The second outfit features the denim and leopard print mix Primark shirt, denim cut offs and more leopard print on the Converse. I wore the outfit to work and this is as close as I get to smart /casual office wear.
Can I just ask one thing? What is with Jeans Day in an office?? I don't want to be told when I can / should wear jeans. I don't miss my jeans so much that any chance to wear them, I do. Jeans Day just makes me not want to wear jeans if anything. How about you?

That was a short and sweet personal style post wasn't it? I am hoping to get another personal style post in before the weekend so watch this space for more of what I have been wearing this Autumn.

Love your leopard print and thanks for reading xx

No Debutante - Put on your pink shoes and dance the blues

I didn't think I would get a chance to blog today but I have found some time to show you today's outfit. I woke up not really knowing what to wear which is unusual for this outfit planner, I decided on the vintage denim pinafore and wore it with my denim & leopard print shirt (another Primark bargain!) Check out the pins! I am not a fan of showing off my bare legs but I thought I would give it go today worn with a pair of Converse low tops to keep things simple and brightened the outfit up with red accents.Typically on the day I have bare legs it got cold and rained!!! The outfit was pretty popular on Instagram so I decided I must look OK! Instagram is my favourite thing lately, I don't know why I didn't join it sooner!

My dress for the next wedding arrived today, I haven't had a chance to try it on yet, I also got Sylvie some Pink Converse high tops, sooooo cute, Sylvie liked them until I put them on her feet, unlike me, Sylvie hates a new pair of shoes!!!

That's it from me today, it is now the boys bedtime followed by wine o'clock and perhaps a film! Have a good evening / day wherever you are!!

Thanks for reading!!

No Debutante - Let's Go To The Hop!

Morning! I am feeling a little bit more alive than I was feeling yesterday and have decided to wear some bright colours and prints to make myself appear a little more awake! Inspired by a rockabilly image sourced on Pinterest, I put this 1950s Rockabilly style outfit together for the morning school run and was rather happy with the way it looked, I even got the wide headscarf look working on my small head which is a fashion result for me!

I am still swinging between my grungy/punk style, dungaree obsessions and my rockabilly 1950s looks. I am wondering whether I should really just stick to one look, but where's the fun in that?? I'm intrigued to know what on earth I shall be wearing next year, whether I will have totally embraced one of my main styles or maybe I shall have a totally new look altogether. When I first started my blog I was just coming out of an edgy, 80s punk phase with my undercut hairstyles and an obsession for bodycon and then I had a baby which pretty much throws you off your current style as you are still trying to pull it off but with a massive belly and a swollen face, it's not the best look!! I love it that fashion is so fickle, it suits me, just fine!

Hopefully, the next blog post should be about another one of my favourite bloggers with great style. It can't always be about me!

Thanks for reading.

No Debutante - Vinyl lovin' Fashion Obsessive

Evening! Here's another short and sweet personal style post. Tonight, I shall be busy sorting through and selecting all the vinyl records, from our vast collection, that we shall play at my club night Bang, which is tomorrow night!!!! I am very excited about Djing and seeing who comes along, it's at a great little venue (The Stag and Hounds) in Bristol and in an area that is very up and coming and Bang fits in very nicely! For those of you who didn't know, I have been running this club night, at various venues, alongside my husband Phil and my brother Mike, for ten years (see the Bang Tenth Birthday Party post here http://no-debutante.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/bang-is-10-10-years-of-your-new.html ) Bang has a good following of Bangers (the name for the Bang fans) too which helps keep the club successful, check out the Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/bangbristol  for Bang photographs, events and music links.

I think I am just about there with my outfit choice for the evening and just wanna go to Bang and party,NOW!!!!!

Today, I am wearing the leopard print hidden wedge boots again and have paired them (without sports socks on this occasion) maxed up with leopard print leggings and a plain top to tone down the leopard print and pink hair overkill! Don't forget, I do work in an office and I should probably tone my style down a bit, which is almost an impossibility for me! I guess, if was required to wear a suit everyday, I would probably come to the conclusion that I was in the wrong job!

I forgot to say, we also got that holiday booked.....Ibiza here we come! Love it!

That's all from this vinyl lovin' fashion obsessive...

Thanks for viewing!

No Debutante - Band T-shirts and a Night Out

After successfully getting on the correct bus to work this Friday morning and feeling rather pleased with myself that I had got the kids to school and nursery on time and even managed to put Sylvie's hair up and style Mika's hair for him (he is getting very particular about his hair these days, I don't know where he gets it from..) to then realising that I had clearly not put on any make up!! This is a crisis for me since my make up hides how tired I really look and I also have fair eyelashes which without my faithful Max Factor Fat Lashes smothered on them frankly make my eyes look even smaller! I panicked and had no make up on me since swapping my bags and contents over when I went out last weekend, I walked into the office with my sunglasses on and luckily borrowed some make up from my work buddy Cath! Phew! Trauma over!

On Friday evening I caught up with my work buddy Rudi for drinks, we drank rum and put the world to rights and ended the night in a chip shop (don't judge, we were hungry!!) rather than a night club - Rock n Roll!! As always it is a pleasure hanging out with the lovely Rudi.

Casual work outfit - Blondie t-shirt borrowed from my husband Phil

Friday night outfit and another band t-shirt

Ridiculous rainbow shoes and turned up leopard print leggings

Rudi rocks it in denim hot pants and a faux fur

Don't forget to nominate me for the Company Style Blogger Awards 2013 here http://www.company.co.uk/magazine-hq/stylebloggerawards2013 it appears that the whole last days to nominate thing that was appearing on loads of blogs is untrue as the Company website is still promoting the awards on their homepage. No Debutante - Get Shirty

My Wednesdays at work have become more challenging with a constant weekly deadline looming over press days and planning sheets, it's changed my day of slowly easing back into work each week  (I work weds-Fri) to a full on, get thrown into the deep end first day back at work! To make things that little bit harder, the baby woke us up at 5.55am and my bloody phone company charged me £10 for listening to one track on Spotify?? What the??

Here's a quick look at what I have been wearing over the past few days, the denim shirt was a favourite. This is how I wear mine with a little help from Sylvie Belle.

Sleeveless or long sleeves, denim shirts are one of my new favourite things to wear! Dr Martens and wearing my hair down were popular too it seems and another shock horror story I actually considered buying an iron (we don't iron anything, my mother in law claims she saw me ironing some flyers for my club night Bang once, sounds about right!) So, yeah, since I have been wearing shirts a lot lately and lots of Sylvie's dresses seem to need ironing, I was actually considering the iron option. Or get my Mum to do it for me! Do I look like I'm kidding??......Muuuuum?

No Debutante - Dungarees like Dexys

I haven't managed to blog for three days due to a lovely long Easter Weekend and going back to a very busy day at work, I hate it when I can't blog!

Last night I managed to get over to Vikki Mac's at Me Time in Bristol for my usual colour experimentation and a moan about how my hair still isn't long! We did achieve a great bit of colour experimentation though so watch this space for the new hair colours over the next week!
Vikki Mac was sporting a lovely pair of dungarees that I like to think I had encouraged her to buy and this links nicely into my next post where, coincidentally, I am wearing my lovely Topshop dungarees!
There are many ways to wear dungarees and on this occasion I have mixed mine up with my lovely new Primark denim shirt with the leopard print sleeves, my leopard print cardigan and my leopard print wedge boots, so that's two of my favourite things denim and leopard print- and not forgetting my current obsession dungarees! Let's call the look workwear glam, if we need to give it a title, which, of course, we do! I went for cute bunches in the hair, just to confuse things!

Yeah Dungarees, Yeah!

All clothing from Topshop and Primark
Styling by No Debutante.

Please Nominate Me if you like what you see for the Company Style Blogger Awards 2013 in the Best Personal Style Blog category. I love blogging and Fashion so much and would like to get some recognition for all my hard work! Nominate here http://www.company.co.uk/magazine-hq/stylebloggerawards2013

I promise to blog again tomorrow! ND xx
