Whole Lotta Sylvie

I have been trying to stay awake and find the time to write on my blog for ages, but it is near on impossible with a new baby! Sylvie is now 2 months old and currently having a quick nap after the morning school run (she's not big on sleeping), so I shall attempt to get some images up of this stylish little lady, I'm sure she is desperate for me to show off her wardrobe for her....ahem...

I would also like to show off some of the handmade items that a few creative and lovely ladies have made for Sylvie as gifts! Thank you ladies!!
It's 10.28am on Fri 27 Jan, let's see how long it takes me to write this post!

1 Day old, I feel mean dressing a new baby in uncomfortable layers so we opt for this cute n cuddly Debenhams babygro by Blue Zoo, which is a fantastic range for little girls.

1 week old - yeah, I seem to have decided against the comfortable n cuddly option, lets get the tutu out! On this day the midwife asked 'are you going to a party in that outfit?'.......I just looked her blankly, surely everyday is a day for a tutu?
Tutu from Mamas and Papas UK, spotty bodysuit from H&M kids

At this point I will just let you know the baby is now awake, so there shall be a long pause until I start up with this post again..... see you in a bit....

OK, I'm back, it's 12.50 in afternoon and I've managed to get Little Sylvie off to sleep in time for more blogging!

Here's me and Sylvie in a rare photo of me looking half awake in my Super Lovers tee and the old faithful leopard print cardigan from Top Shop., Sylvie is looking more stylish than me in her adorable 1970s inspired orange jumper dress with Bunny print by Blue Zoo from Debenhams and stripey knitted H&M Kids leggings, clashing it up nicely. Can I say I would never usually rate Debenhams but the baby stuff in the designer section is too cute to resist.

2 Weeks old and Sylvie is rocking her Pink knitted Skull n crossbones jumper knitted by the lovely Miri-Biscuits (named by my oldest son Lucian - Miri would always bring biscuits when she visited) a very clever friend of mine who really should sell these jumpers, Miri, I'd buy a load of them off you for my kids!! I Love the jumper!!
You must always pair your pirate jumper with Pink spotty bloomers (part of set from H&M Kids) Boden spotty tights (a gift from my Mum, I cannot actually afford clothes from Boden!!) and completing the outfit pink legwarmers (from H&M Kids). Sylvie clearly loves it! Even if her newborn skinny little legs did look like the legs of that Gremlin from the film of the very same name. You know the Gremlin in the bar? Breakdancing? You remember?  No?

Sylvie's sailor outfit inspired by Harajuku girls and the anime films 'Sailor Moon'. Sailor top from H&M Kids and spotty Bloomers (part of set from Pumpkin Patch- a shop that is a little twee -and expensive -  for my liking but I'm a sucker for bloomers!)

3 Weeks old - Sylvie and her friend Milo (Milo's mum is Rachel - the other pregnant lovely lady from My Whole Lotta Rosie posts.) Sylvie is wearing red bodysuit from H&M Kids and her tutu tights (tights attached to a tutu - fabulous!) from Baby Gap. She is wearing the very same outfit today and 2 months on the tights tutu just about fit her Daddy long legs!

4 Weeks old - Sylvie on Christmas Day in the spotty H&M Bodysuit, M&P tutu and stripey (I  can't afford these) Boden tights.

1 Month old - Here's Sylvie looking unsure about her beautiful Celia Birtwell Cheongsam-esque babygro from John Lewis. Celia Birtwell (for those who didn't know) is a Textiles designer from the 1960s, you know, married to fashion desigher Ossie Clark, they changed catwalk fashion shows forever by putting on shows to music, inviting every cool person they could think of to the show and turning the shows into events rather than private shows for the Elite......oh hang on a minute that Elite thing still happens, let's say they just made them a bit more 'rock n roll'.......Anyway Celia has a lovely girlswear collection in John Lewis, there is also a womanswear collection using the same prints, which is interesting, not that I'm going to start wearing matching outfits with my Daughter.....well not everyday...

Yey! The pink Pirate 'Miri-Biscuits' jumper again and another pair of knitted stripey leggings from H&M Kids. The perfect pirate match! Aah Harrr!

These lovely little red Mary Janes were kindly knitted by another friend and Bang (my club night) regular Cat Daynes. Again, you really should sell these Cat! Knitted Mary Janes?....Yes! love it!

6 Weeks old and Sylvie is experimenting with her androgynous side, wearing the Cowboy Vs Vegas Elvis suit which has been worn by all my kids and by Felix my mate Rachel's oldest son since Rach bought it for Lucian 7.5 years ago. It looked really camp on the boys but it looks really masculine on Sylvie. You have to love it though, look at the little cowboy boot appliques!!
Stripey bodysuit H&M Kids, Elvis Jumpsuit Gymboree. Hair - Sylvie's own personal style Mohawk, you couldn't flatten it if you wanted to.

This amazing outfit is soooooo cute, It's by Molo and from The Pippa and Ike show kids shop on Gloucester Road in Bristol. It's full of quirky, mostly Scandanavian items, It's my new favourite shop! However it isn't cheap. I saw this outfit before I had Sylvie and decided I would treat myself  and the Little Lady to this dress and trousers. I was straight down there when Sylvie was born! The shop is conveniently close to my house too which is a little worrying.

Find The Pippa and Ike Show here www.the-pippa-and-ike-show.com or the-pippa-and-ike-show.blogspot.com

The print on the outfit is very on trend for the Spring Summer 2012 season with it's digital prints and pyjama style! I love all the dolls on this print which, I imagine, may be a little wierd and scary for some. I bloody love it and so does Sylvie as you can see she is nearly cracking a smile!

7 Weeks old - Sylvie is laying on a beautiful blanket which was a gift crocheted by my very good friend and fellow blogger Dilly Foxtrot, thanks Dilly. Are you selling these now Dilly? Again....I want (to buy) more!!! Love it, Love it!!

Pixie baby on the school run, the poor little thing is usually scooped out of her bed still in her PJs and put straight into the Pram most mornings! The cardigan was knitted for Mika by a kind lady (whom I have never met and works with my Mum) I requested she knit me a red one after she knitted hundreds of white ones for Lucian ( how ungrateful am I?) the Knitting Lady (as we will now refer to her) thought I was mad, but went along with the charade and came up with this hooded number, which I loved! Thanks Knitting Lady! The Sleeping bag that Sylvie is in is from Primark Primarni and in the sale cost me a whopping £1! Shocking! I felt like I was stealing it! You have to love Primers!!

The last of the outfits, for now....this dress was actually mine when I was a baby, it's a 1970s original! I love the smock style, they don't cut them this short anymore but my kidswear guru Dilly Foxtrot says you can keep baby dresses going for ages until they end up as smock dress and then finally a smock top. I guess thats why they make them longer now.

'Oh Sylvie you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind, Hey Sylvie, Hey Sylvie!'
Thanks for being a girl Sylvie, I love you xx
Next time on No Debutante, Spring Summer 2012 Fashion ideas and inspirations, favourite collections, what I'll be wearing, what's on the High Street and all that.

OK, so I think I have finally finished this post, the time is 13.53pm........on Sunday 29 January....told you it would take forever!

Whole Lotta Rosie - Part 7

OK, so it's been nearly two months since my last post, for anyone who has been following my Whole Lotta Rosie posts you may have been wondering where the hell I've been?? Well, I shall tell you at the end of this post, meanwhile here are few more very late pregnancy images of me, trying my hardest to look stylish and not like Jabba the Hut in pyjamas.

Week 39  - I think it was just about sinking in here that the baby was not going to come early, so obviously a nautical look was in order to cheer me up, stripe top, yellow cardigan and the -now boring the hell out of me- bodycon dress, all from H&M.

Weather definately getting colder here in the UK, but not so cold I need to wear a coat. Good job because none of my winter coats will fit around me!

I'd say I have also just realised that I will have to spend another week of hiding from everyone at my kids school to avoid the ridiculous comments about how to get my baby out....hot curry, sex, raspberry leaf tea, pineapple.........shut up! I took to hiding outside the gates to reduce this annoying banter, whilst hoping that I go into labour at least on my due date which is 3 days from the day this photo is taken. Please baby come soon!!!!!!!!!!

I'm amazed I can do this Topshop denim shirt up, that's probably why I'm smiling.
Week 40 - The baby is due on this day Mon 21 November 2011...........ahem.....can you come out now???

Two days late and I'm putting a brave face on it, still embracing pregnancy and pretending I'm not totally over it. My American Apparel batwing hoodie helps me through it.

Three Days late and still on that school run, thought I'd glam it up with the Asos lace maternity dress. Come on baby!

Sunday 27 November..........6 days late........I have to admit I totally lost it on this day, obviously I was disapointed that my baby was nearly a week late, I was uncomfortable, anxious and dreading having to go back on the school run the next day. I, for some reason, despite all this, had cheered myself up by curling my hair and wearing lots of red. Still hoping that today would be the day.

I'm stood in my bedroom, next to the newly assembled Cot bed waiting for the baby..........what happened next????

On Monday 28 November at 7.29am (just in time for breakfast) Sylvie Belle Ellicott was born weighing in at 7lbs 5oz (the biggest of all my babies) she came very quick but was very much wanted out! And I really did have a Little Girl!!! Wee Hoo! We all love her so much, Welcome to the world Little Lady xxxx

Here I am moments after the birth (of course this is one of the better photographs, but I had not just painted my nails, as one friend had pointed out!) Check out Little Sylvie, she rocks!!

Sylvie and Daddy

Introducing Sylvie Belle Ellicott TM

Of course it wouldn't be right if I didn't mention the outfit, check out Sylvie's green floral print babygro from Debenhams! More on Sylvie's wardrobe to come very soon!!!

So, to finalise the Whole Lotta Rosie posts, here I am (minus the bump) on Christmas Day 2011, nearly a month after Sylvie was born.Wearing my lovely Tiger print bodycon dress from Topshop (a lovely Christmas present from Phil).

I haven't added any inbetween images as, to be honest, I appear to be sat down and looking half asleep in most of them. My new problem is finding any clothes that fit, my maternity clothes just fall off, I am not quite small enough to fit into my jeans and tailored items in my wardrobe AND to make things more difficult I am breast feeding and can only really wear seperates, so dresses are pretty much a no-no, can you believe I am actually missing that H&M bodycon dress!!

Watch this space for more of my fashion dilemmas, see how I cope with baby brains, dressing a baby girl and the new Spring / Summer 2012 Season.
