No Debutante - Personality Crisis

Here are two very different day to day looks from me. The only thing they have in common is my H&M leopard fur. The first look has a playful rockabilly feel to it, with my victory rolled hair, crop tee, Vivien of Holloway vintage cut jeans, ankle socks and Converse. I wore this outfit on a trip to Bath, where I met up with friends and booked my tattoo appointment. It was a good day!

The second outfit is grunge and Saint Laurent AW13 inspired with my cute Peter Pan collar Primark dress, fur and Dr Martens. Rockabilly and grunge are two popular styles for me at the moment, I was about to list a few more of my current fashion personalities but there were too many, plus I have just rediscovered the 1970s again which only adds to my fashion madness, I am definitely a fashionista with a personality crisis and it would be no fun if I wasn't!

 

Not to be upstaged, my little fashionista Sylvie Belle makes an appearance to show you how she works colour, print clashes, long socks and Hello Kitty Vans. Dressing little girls is much more fun than dressing little boys!

No Debutante- Vintage Twist

I am back after a weekend of attending the G-star ladies night, watching my husbands band The Relay Rips perform at the Your Street Gift Card event, ripping my kitchen apart (to make way for the new one) and spending time with my kids and it's Sunday night already and the Monday Morning school run is looming closer. Where does the time go??

Let's crack on with another personal style post which today features preppy little dresses with a vintage twist. I own so many dresses and I was definitely in a dress wearing mood on this week (dating back to the beginning of September). The weather was still warm and I was lucky enough to not have to wear tights (a distant memory to me already since Autumn finally seems to have kicked in here in Bristol, UK).  Oh Bare legs, I miss you!! 

Essentially I am wearing two different dresses with the same accessories, I wasn't conscious of doing this and don't really mind that I did, both looks still look fairly different and I am happy with the result. Which look do you prefer?

Wow! I manged to get the post finished super fast, which gives me more time for blogging! The next post is inspired by a certain trend that I have been collecting images of for over a year on Pinterest and coincidentally links to a favourite look from the A/W 2013 shows. I shall be showing you my favourite Pinterest images of how to wear the look and where you can buy it on the high street. All you have to do is wait for the next post to find out what it is!

No Debutante - Girls who are boys who like boys to be girls...

Today's outfits are showing two different sides of my style the first is a casual tomboy style in Topshop dungarees, New Look crop top and leopard print Converse with hair kept simple. In the second outfit I am wearing my cute Peter Pan collar dress from Primark with preppy Converse and frilly ankle socks with my hair worn in a small beehive 1960s style with a head scarf (of course) Head scarves are actually a great thing to put in to hid the sections of hair in between the backcombing and the loose front layers (or victory rolls) it can hid a multitude of hair errors!! I am not perfect!

The next post shall feature what I wore (and others wore) to my work mate Abbie's wedding a couple of  weeks ago. Expect more 1950s wedding style!!

No Debutante - July, she will fly

We have now made it to July's outfits, this year is going very quick but my holiday to Ibiza is not coming quick enough! I cannot wait to get on that plane and step off into the heat of Ibiza, I am very excited!! Anyhoo, I must wait a little while longer until that day comes, so let's have a look at what I have been wearing in July so far.

My first outfit I wore all day on Monday, even when we went out to Atomic Burger for Lucian's family birthday treat. Lucian loves Atomic Burger and since they do make the best burgers in Bristol, we love it too! I was happy with my maxi skirt, crop top and leopard print sandals combo so I didn't need to change to go out and the weather was hot too, so the outfit was perfect.

On Tuesday, I felt like wearing a dress and the weather wasn't too great so tights and my studded ballet pumps completed my outfit, a dress and pumps is a simple outfit but always looks like you have made an effort. I wore my hair  down at the back with a Betty Bang style fringe, which is becoming a favourite look of mine. Hope you like what I wore!

No Debutante - Ten Storey Love Song

The first night out from my double-whammy weekend was to attend the very lovely tenth wedding anniversary of our friends Mikee and Yva at a rather grand wine and champagne bar & restaurant named Goldbrick House in Bristol. I have been there before for my friend Rudi's wedding so I knew it was a dress up event! Phil pointed out that the staff were very keen to help (he was lugging decks about that were being borrowed for the night -for once we had managed to not DJ or have Phil's band The Relay Rips playing, it was just a night out, which is a rarity for us ) anyway back to the staff, they actually carried all the equipment for him and kept calling him 'Sir' which for us is a rare treat, we are used to turning up at a venue where we are playing in the room upstairs and have to lug all equipment ourselves. I have been known to complain about this, you try lugging heavy record boxes and decks about in heels!! I even did it when I was pregnant! Rock'n'Roll!

 

We had a great night getting spoilt and dressing smart.

No Debutante - Short Cuts

Apologies for my lack of posts this week, I have just returned from a long weekend in freezing cold Wales with the family, which was packed full of bike rides, swimming ( mainly water chutes ans wave machines) and lots of fresh air!! The nights were spent in our warm Lodge drinking wine and watching films so some relaxing was had whilst my little monsters slept! With no rest for the wicked, I was straight back into work with the holiday bags still unpacked -business as usual! Did I mention Winter has returned here in the UK, there is snow (not in Wales or Bristol luckily) I am longing for the sunshine to come!

It's too early for that dress.......7 Months Post pregnancy fashion dilemmas

I am sorry for the lack of posts lately, I really am so busy all the time and now it's the summer hols for the kids, I am not getting a quick break to blog during the day - when the boys are usually at school and little Sylvie Belle is having a nap -it just takes me so long to select and crop images before I have even decided what I am going to say on the actual post. I really need to do some extra short 'n' sweet posts to keep the blog updated more often. Here are some more of my style moments for my post pregnancy posts, these images were taken 7 months after Sylvie was born in July this year. The weather was rainy forever here in the UK and then finally, the sun came out....

Quiff week

My hair has been driving me crazy since I have been, very slowly, growing out the much loved undercut, I am now attempting to achieve a cute 1990s britpop bob. Although I can put in the britpop style hair grips I am a long way off from a bob haircut! Boo hoo! In an attempt to style the inbetween hairstyle, the quiff is always a winner.

Check out my cool little dudes above, this was a very difficult photo to achieve as Lucian and Mika seem to have a big problem with standing still!

At Home she feels like a Tourist

My lovely husband Phil got me this Gang of Four tee for my birthday from 8ball.com who have a great range of band and rock tshirts. Gang of Four are one of my favourite New Wave bands, I bloody love 'em! I have had several compliments about this tee and I am always hoping that people are not thinking the old cliche 'I bet she has no idea who Gang of Four are.....'

My new dress!

 It's always time for a new dress in my opinion, I picked up this sleeveless shirt style dress with cute swallow print from H&M and paired it with my trusty red belt and headscarf (I got bored of the quiff after a few days....)
