Ibiza Rocks 2014

Apologies for the lack of blog posts lately but it is the school holidays and I spend most of my time entertaining my kids and juggling work and childcare. This week has also seen the return of my club night Bang which is now only every quarter of the year due to family commitments and general lack of time to be able to run a club night and DJ more regularly. It was a great night though with loads of regulars and some new faces on Bristol's underground club scene. I promise to post a load of Bang photographs very soon so you can see exactly what is going on at Your New Favourite club. Check out images here for a sneak peek. We are also clearing out our loft, now remember Phil and I are shocking hoarders, and there is ten years worth of hoarding going on up there, that needs to be removed! As we speak some of the loft converter guys have just turned up to measure up before they start the work, its all very exciting but extremely time consuming and hectic! You know me nothing for an easy life!

Let's take a look back to when I was having a bit of time off and managed to take the whole family to Ibiza. I am an awkward summer holiday dresser as city street style is clearly my look rather than beach babe and I find myself needing to tone down my style to look less odd on the beach! Honestly, this is the truth, it's crazy isn't it? So, I started toning down my look by colouring my hair bright blue and took it from there.....

I miss you Ibiza, you rock!

All clothing from  Primark, Zara, Topshop, Maui, Vision Street Wear, Santa Cruz, H&M, Converse and Boden.

Blue Vintage

I have been flitting between Modern Vintage, Grunge and Fash Clash of late not knowing which fashion persona is going to reveal itself from one day to the next. Today's post is no different and features a definite Modern Vintage look going on for two consecutive days, the first outfit features a Breton top tucked into my Vivien Of Holloway 'Day of The Dead' Circle skirt, ankle socks and Converse. The second look is more land girl inspired, 1940s dungarees from Freddie's of Pinewood over a striped crop vest with another pair of Converse. I had been trying out styles in my newly coloured Mermaid hair with natural waves created by removing braids from my hair and a good old Victory roll updo! The more colours you have the more texture is created and more varied hair styles can be achieved. I love styling up newly coloured hair! I also love the way my hair colour clashed up with my mixed prints and Modern Vintage looks, adding a touch of Grunge styling to a predominantly vintage look.

All clothing by Vivien of Holloway, Freddies of Pinewood, New Look, Topshop, Tatty Devine and Converse. Hair colour by Vikki Mac.

Mermaid Blue

Hi Fashionistas! It's been a busy week, as always, this was the first week of the holidays spent at home with my kids so I have to find ways of entertaining them, luckily we had planned a visit to my hometown to meet up with two of my oldest friends and all their kids (seven kids in total) and did the holiday maker thing at the seaside. Despite early rain it was a sunny day and after donkey rides and playing on the beach we treated ourselves to a great british fish and chips lunch followed by a final ride on the carousel! A great day had by all and this is just one of the many reasons why it has taken me a week to write my next blog post!

If you haven't been following me on Facebook or Instagram (perhaps you should?) then you still haven't seen my lovely blue mermaid hair. Here is a short and sweet post using my Instagram pics taken on the day my hair stylist Vikki Mac (pictured below) turned me into a full blown Mermaid, with hints of green and one section of pink which was requested by my little Sylvie Belle, how could I refuse her? Vikki Mac then braided my mermaid hair which looked amazing, I love my mermaid hair!! On reaching home I realised my hair was the same colour as my VW Van.  Your VW Van should always match your hair!

Tucked In Or Hung Out

This is the last personal style post before I reveal my new hair colour on the No Debutante blog. Since the weather was hot mid July, the skirt was the chosen item for me, midi, mini, tartan or clashing prints anything goes but what to wear with my skirts? Separates can be worn in so many  different variations and can give the illusion that you have many more clothes than you actually do! Dressed up or down, layered, with or without accessories and whether you should tuck your top in or let it hang out, the possibilities are endless.

I have taken it upon myself to question why do (mostly older) women wear a long fitted top pulled over the top of their skirts? I think it was possibily a look that was started to avoid getting muffin top, whatever the reason, it truly has to be one of the most unflattering looks ever!!?? You have a look, you will see this look every day, it drives me mad! Can't these women just tuck the top in a bit and show off that they have a waist instead of creating more bumps and accentuating the ones they may already have? Or wear a more oversized top to make it look like you are not trying to hide your waist, hips and bum with your fitted top? Or just wear a bloody dress and be done with it! Proportionally this look is an odd one, it creates an unflattering illusion that you have a very long (bumpy)torso and equally very short legs. It's a no win look. Please, if you are doing this then stop it at once and show off your curves! Rant Over!

Here are three ways I wear my separates with tops tucked in or out but not a sign of the fitted long top tragedy! On a lighter note, who remembers the white Primark sandals that broke on the second wear? Well, I was about to throw them out in disgust when I had an idea.... I cut off the broken straps, two seconds before I was leaving the house for work and 'voila' a fixed pair of sandals, customised the no Debutante way! Check out the results below! What do you think? Let me know how many people you see today who are guilty of the long top and skirt crime, I bet its over ten people!

Crop Top and Jeans

I am back from my holiday in sunny Ibiza and sat at home in Bristol, England listening to the rain pour outside and I am totally wishing I was back in Ibiza sat on the beach, listening to the waves! At least this bad English weather gives me a chance to catch up with some blogging, we have a lot to talk about!
As anybody who follows me on Facebook and Instagram knows I have a new hair colour and will be sharing this and all of my holiday outfits with you on this blog very soon but for now we are going to have a look at what I wore the few days before I went on holiday and got my hair done, if you can't wait to see the new hair colour check out my Facebook and Instagram. Although the outfits have not yet been revealed to anybody yet, watch all of these spaces over the next few days to see what No Debutante wore in Ibiza!

Today's outfits are very simple but effective and are great worn in the warmer months. I love a crop top and a pair of high waisted jeans and here are a couple of ways I have worn them in July with creeper pumps and cute hair updos.

All clothing and accessories from Topshop, Vivien of Holloway, Primark and Asos.

Thanks so much for reading and don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Facebook for daily fashion updates, ahead of the blog posts.
