Whole Lotta Sylvie - Part 5

Little Sylvie Belle is about to turn 8 months old next week. She can now sit up alone, feed herself finger food and has two teeth. Her favourite word is Dada - I do all the hard work and not a mention of my name!
I have a massive backlog of Sylvie's fashion moments but shall only be showing pics from the end of May - June on this occasion.
My poor little baby had to go into hospital this week and have an operation on her hand, which was heartbreaking, but I am pleased to announce that all went well and Sylvie was back to her lively, shouting, kicking self within the hour after the op. That's my girl!!

Check out the little piggy tail in her hair, I love having a girl, even if she does REALLY complain when I put her hair up......She's gotta get used to it!  She has no idea how often I used to longingly dream of putting her brother Mika's curly blonde mane up into bunches when he was a baby, I don't think Mika has any idea either....He had a lucky escape...

Sylvie working her Dexys Midnight Runners trailor trash dungarees with no top look!! Must have been a freak hot day! She looks so tiny here.

Crazy hair moments up next! I swear I did not use my curling wand on her hair!

This one looks like I have backcombed it into a quiff and fixed it with hairspray....I didn't....Honest!!! Check out the leopard print babygro, my friend Rudi lent it to me, Sylvie rocks it!!

A couple of images of Sylvie, Mummy and Nan-Nan on our freezing, rainy, camping holiday back in June. Wearing winter clothes...again...Sylvie is wearing a vintage knitted romper that was actually my brother Mike's when he was a baby back in the late 1970s. Love it! Thanks for being a hoarder Mum!!

Converse, you can never have too many pairs of Converse......I really must take a photo of all the Converse in this house, it's quite a collection!

Aaaah! Little Sylvie's hair had grown even more by the end of June and the curly quiff has now left us....boooo! As you can see below, the fringe is getting so long it has flopped forward, it now looks a bit like my own hairstyle which wasn't planned......It wasn't!!!
The weather took a terrible turn throughout June and July so Sylvie was back in her layers, here she works her Vintage dress over her flared jeans with a handmade knitted cardigan. Nice! ND xx

Fade to Gray - Louise Gray A/W 2012

I have been dying to show you Louise Gray's Autumn Winter collection ever since the A/W 2012 shows back at the beginning of the year. I had such a back log of stuff I hadn't even shown you for this Summer, what Summer? I hear everyone in the UK mutter to themselves whilst peeking out from under their umbrellas!! - Can I just say, not only is the continuous UK rainfall getting me down, I then have to read about how hot everyone is on any US blogs that I follow, which makes me really jealous!! Anyway, weather rant over for today!! I am now at the end of my Spring summer 2012 posts...
Let's have a look at Louise Gray's A/W 2012 collection of multi-coloured, print clashing, Pop Art Punks to cheer ourselves (Me) up.

How I shall be wearing Louise Gray AW 2012......If only I could afford the real thing.....

Let's start at the Punk inspired hair, I shall be quiff and spiking my hair up, perhaps create a bit of a curly quiff with my Babyliss styling wand. Sleek down the sides or for long hair, a pony tail and quiff up the front.

The 80s punk v's geisha girl make-up - loads of bright pink blending into orange eyeshadow/blush blended from the cheekbones right up to the side of the eyebrows...yeah!!!

The 80s inspired earrings - brightly coloured, massive beaded, trinket filled dangly earrings that finish below your chin. Wear 'em big!

The outfit - a 1960s style shift is the winner here, you can wear it over clashing printed tights, leggings or trousers ( the 1990s skirts and dresses over trousers look is massive this autumn winter) The print of your dress needs to clash with any other prints you are wearing or at least come in a different colour to the rest of the outfit. The jackets are either cropped or sixties inspired rain macs to wear over your main outfit or opt for a long sleeve shirt or printed long sleeve bodysuits to be worn under your dress like a pinafore.

The footwear - the knee high boot returns, wear them bright and printed and clashed up with your brightly printed tights or trousers.

The prints - this collection is a mash up of tribal aztec, metallic futurism, 1960s graphic  op-art and bleached up, punk paint splashes....all must be worn at once.

The Bag - bright and clashing with your outfit and carried like a clutch upside down.
I think that covers it.

Oh, Louise Gray,  you are becoming my favourite fashion designer ever!! As always, you are sooo creative and colourful and it seems, like me, you are very influenced by 1970s punk and 1980s style, with a smidge of 1960s pop art. I could wear every piece of  all your collections!!!

I love Louise Gray's personal style, she completely absorbs her collections, which makes me appreciate and enjoy the collections more. It makes them more wearable, I think, to see the designer wearing the collection. the clothes aren't just for very young, skinny catwalk models! Check out some images of Louise Gray above, I am loving the randomly applied eye make-up and I am considering this look for the next time I DJ at my club night Bang, which is in less than two weeks on Friday 27 July!! Excited!!! ND xx

It's too early for that dress - Post Pregnancy Dilemmas - Part 9

Denim seemed to be my favourite thing in June, it was also a very busy month for me including the return of my club night Bang, my birthday and a family camping holiday amongst other stuff. I am always so busy and currently feel a bit under the weather as a result of it. Did I mention it rained pretty much the whole of our camping holiday and it has been, pretty much, continuously raining here in the UK ever since!! I have sandals that haven't seen the light of day. Gutted!!

The top outfit has been seen on my blog before but I quite liked the photographs (hey, it's my blog, of course I will attempt to edit the bad pics and show you the good ones) I was pleased to receive Vogues Catwalk report for A/W 2012 confirming that voluminous clothes are indeed something to be seen in this year. I really love my Vivien of Holloway 1950s jeans, which are now a little big, since I have lost a bit more baby weight, but I like them that way. There's something quite liberating about not having to show off how skinny, you are, (or not in most cases) the pressure is off and I like it! The trick is that I  tuck my top in to give me a bit of shape.

Double denim in the above pics worn with a crop top from Primark with fairly high waisted shorts cut up from a pair of my Dad's old jeans. My usual denim cut offs were still a little snug the last time I wore them and I like the way these ones are little oversized. I'm wearing my desert island print wellies from Office, they have had a fair bit of use lately in this wet summer.

Check out my peach denim dungarees! Phil got me them for my birthday from Asos, I have barely worn them as I still haven't decided whether I bloody love them or if they just make me look like a Kids TV presenter from the 80s....I dunno, they look pretty cute here, maybe I should give them a chance, what d'ya think?? Go Wild in the Country

.....Or, if, like us, the country is not so close by,  go wild in the closest place with trees......Here's us, one lazy Sunday in May (we don't get many lazy Sundays these days). We got the boys on the bikes, wrapped up the baby and went to climb trees, a far cry from our childless Sundays 10 years ago, when Phil and I (according to my brother) didn't get up before 2pm at least....ever! Now that's a lazy Sunday!

I really have got behind with my blogging lately, we've been soooo busy and frankly, I'm tired!!!! I have so much to post about too!! I started this post about 2 weeks ago, you get my point. Back very soon with a fashion based post.....ND xxx
