Typical Freaks Spring/Summer 18 Lookbook faves

Just over a year ago I shared the Typical Freaks love with you all here on the No Debutante blog. I am always so inspired by independent designers that incorporate bright colours, inspiring cutting skills and their own graphic prints into their creations. Typical Freaks epitomise this style and still create handmade prints covering voluminous shapes and staying true to their kawaii punk beginnings, seven collections in as Typical Freaks.

Here are some of the No Debutante faves from the Spring/Summer 18 Lookbook
The colours mix together lush greens and blues with bold yellow, pretty pinks with contrasting greys and bright oranges, in the familiar Typical Freaks sea urchin style abstract prints, the candy coloured vertical stripes and an appearance of a new monkey print outlined in black, Keith Haring styleShapes are voluminous and billowing, in fun childlike t-shirts and dresses, with white denim style cottons printed up or in full on bold and summery colours. Frills feature heavily again, with elasticated style gathers appearing on dresses and trousers in a big mash up of kawaii punk sportswear that looks super bright and super comfy! The styling is topped off with bold coloured eyes or lips, printed socks and a return of the white sandal this summer! Nice!

The last image is from Typical Freaks AW17 Lookbook, this outfit is amazing, look at the frills, the oversized cut and the prints for starters! It also shows you how versatile fashion is becoming with many designers now opting for unisex garms for all. I think we are a bit early on in the day to see gender specific areas banished from clothing stores but there certainly is a change in the air within the genres of fashion at the moment, which is both inspiring and exciting!

Great British Summertime

It's the Great British Summertime and the No Debutante wardrobe has it's staples including crop tops,  Kimonos, Culottes , shirts, slip dresses, shorts and joggers, with a few denim pieces here and there. The clashing prints and colour will always be there worn with some mad socks and a pair of trainers, so you recognize me! The headscarf has worked it's way back into the wardrobe lately and the earrings can only get bigger.

Jekkah Love

NO DEBUTANTE NEWS FLASH Due to my love of all things bright, beautiful and boldly printed I am now proud to announce that No Debutante is an Ambassador for the African Inspired Streetwear Clothing label Jekkah. I am an official JEKKAH AMBASSADOR and helping to spread the Jekkah Love!

Jekkah is an ethical brand of African Inspired Streetwear
designed and produced in The Gambia, using highly skilled local Gambian tailors, with a flagship store based at the world famous Camden Stables Market in London, UK. Founded in 2013, Jekkah's fun and funky clothing line brings a bit of African colour into you life made from 100% cotton African Wax Print fabrics creating original clothing that stands out and gets noticed! Plus every Jekkah item is a limited edition with only a small quantity of items lovingly produced in each fabric!

The Jekka brand caught my eye on Instagram, after they liked one of the No Debutante OOTD photos. I was drawn in by the bright colours and prints and just loved their crop tops and shorts sets, perfect for the summer! I love the way Jekkah mix African wax prints with street style looks, mixing casual trousers, shorts and tshirts, perfect for a festival or a night out or perhaps wear your Jekkah dressed up in the crop top and pencil skirt sets as worn by Rockabilly babe Paloma Faith.

Moving into Autumn they have great hoodies and jackets available in their latest Wax prints, the website is updated regularly, with ranges for both men and women with the Camden shop supplying even more African print goodies (even the kids get a few Jekkah treats), there is a place for Jekkah in everyones life! Go check Jekkah out and add some colour to your life this winter!

As I mentioned earlier Jekkah is an ethical brand and are partnered with the ERASE FOUNDATION whose main objective is to provide resources and assistance to communities in West Africa, particularly Gambia. Every £25 you spend Jekkah will give £1 to this brilliant charity who have built schools and orphanages for impoverished children in remote locations in The Gambia. Find out more at www.erasefoundation.org.uk

I am so excited to be joining Jekkah and to celebrate I have a discount code offer for all you lovely fashionistas to recieve 10% off any Jekkah clothing! Check out the website www.jekkah.com and don't forget the No Debutante discount code JEKKAHEMMA when ordering your lovely Jekkah items!

Fix Up Look Sharp Vs No Debutante

Following the Fix Up Look Sharp AW15 Preview event last month I was very excited to borrow a bag of FULS goodies to dress up No Debutante stylee. For those of you who are not aware FULS are an Independent fashion label based in Bristol, all the garments are made from donated fabrics and clothing into one-of-a-kind fashion pieces to raise funding for CLIC Sargent's vital work with children and young people with cancer.

No Debutante loves Fix Up Look Sharps' use of bright prints, colours and unique and voluminous shapes and styles, as I have said before, I love a label that pushes fashion boundaries leaving the more conservative fashions miles behind.  It was an absolute pleasure to style up these Fix Up Look Sharp garments  and I seriously could have carried on styling up the garments for hours, I had such fun with it, print clashing and layering the FULS garments up with my own wardrobe, which seemed to work rather well since these are the exact style of garments that I go for!  In this post the garments are from the SS 2015 range and I will be sharing the No Debutante styled up FULS AW 2015 Preview range very soon. You can preview the AW 2015 range here

There are currently a few collabs under No Debutante's fashionista belt and all will appear on the blog over the next few weeks! Including more from the fun filled Fix Up Look Sharp, Bristols Upcycling queen Helen from Kecks Clothing and the fashion salvage team from Bristol Textiles Recycling. Watch this space!
